If you do it in the opposite order, marines first and then college, I think they might pay for school? Except of course you're already in that school thing. Have you thought about ROTC?
I thought thats what ROTC was all about -- they pay for (or contribute large amounts towards) your college and while you're there you do training stuff as well and as soon as you graduate you get a commission as an O-1 officer.
CONGRATS! i wish i had what you have..in a way. i really want to serve my country and give it back something.. ive recieved so much from it. i feel as if i owe it to the good old u s of a... i would gladly die for my country if i had to, but life as of now is telling me to finish college and i really want to start a family someday. :( or maybe get a job working for a government agency. but i really respect your drive. good luck with whatever you do! keep your chin up.
you know, you can still serve our country by filling in the employment gaps that the troops leave behind. You can still work for a government agency after being in the service; that's where many officers go after their time served is up!
I want a family too; maybe I'll end up with a serviceman or police officer. But I'm not worried about that right now, and you shouldn't be either. There is plenty of time to have children...people are getting married later and later in life, which is good because then both of you have enough cash to support each other.
thanks for the support. it's good to know there's one girl out there who isn't all, "Eeeew, women Marines are lesbian whores!"(and believe me, I've heard that a lot!). Good luck in what you do too...who knows, maybe our paths will cross in this big bureaucracy they call our Government.
