In my experience Buffy fans never got tired of talking about the show, so there is no such thing as season 1 being too long ago to talk about!

Buffy gets hit really hard with a lot of horrific things and it makes me wince each time because I’m so not used to seeing female characters being thrown around like that, but it’s also awesome that they didn’t dilute those parts of the fights.

Aww yeah Buffy gets so much stronger later on where one vampire is like nothing to her, so the first time I went back to rewatch season 1 it was kind of shocking to see a single vampre like Luke give her so much trouble, and I kind of missed that later on. It really felt like she was putting her life every night to keep Sunnydale safe :hearts: And Willow/Xander was totally one of my early ships, and the scooby friendship was oh so cute in season 1. Prophecy Girl is still one of my top ten episodes from the entire series

I love that she’s totally crushing on Angel (although his love for her is totally inexplicable, didn’t they, like, meet two days ago ( ... )

Oh, I'm so glad about that! It would totally suck if I couldn't discuss the show at all because discussion's half the fun of being in fandom :D

I KNOW, RIGHT? Those three (and Giles!) are adorable. I love that they have this little love triangle thing but it isn't a hindrance to their friendship at all; like Willow doesn't resent Buffy and Buffy never accepts Xander's advances and Xander is a guy and therefore clueless by default, haha *hearts*

Prophecy Girl is still one of my top ten episodes from the entire seriesOh it was a really good episode! It was incredibly interesting to see Buffy face the idea of her mortality and what 'saving the world' actually meant. Her reactions seemed so genuine; she wasn't all self-sacrificial and For The Greater Good and I loved that. Also, the Xander and Angel stuff was just hilarious for some reason. Also Buffy ( ... )

Ha no worries there, there are quite a few people on my flist who still host weekly discussions of the show *g*

And yeah Buffy broke my heart in the "I don't want to die" speech :sniffs: And I also really liked Gile's fatherly connection to her and how broken he looked at that

As in, I dislike Epic Love Stories intensely as it is, so if B/A is being set up for that, I probably won't enjoy it much. Well I don't want to spoil you too much! But I have been kind of assuming you've heard something about the B/A romance being a pretty big deal in the early shows of the year? The WB marketing loved it (they made the most gorgeous promo pics for them, it makes me weep when you look at the best the CW can come up with for TVD is fruit themes lol). Interestingly it was originally Xander that Joss kind of had in the back of his mind as the endgame guy for Buffy, which I think Prophecy Girl tends to back up with Xander being the ( ... )

sometimes I feel like the only person who ships S/E, yet didn't care for B/A which was by far the more popular of the two *g*

OMG just butting in to say YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

I am a huge Spike/Buffy shipper who ships S/E, the right choices! :D

OH MY GOD, I AGREE, BUFFY'S FAAAAACE DD: And I loved the way she and Giles interacted there totally shipped them at that moment /predictable and how betrayed she was and how much he'd grown to care for her beyond just his destiny being to help her fulfill her destiny. And then when she tells her mother to take her away for the weekend. MY GIRL D:

Also dummies are creepy, as are clowns; the entire idea of that episode and modes of perception was fantastic!

Or, I suppose, Stefan/Ripper is Angel/Angelus technically since BtVS came first

Just please, please, PLEASE remember that Angel came first and is totally superior. If you like Cordy, can I suggest Angel when you are finished Buff?

YOU ARE SO TALENTED. I don't think I tell you that enough.

YOUR ICON IS CORDY (...or at least the actress who plays her!) Haha, I feel so ridiculously accomplished that I've started recognizing these characters \o/

I have to keep reminding myself that BtVS came first with its Sunnydale and Giles and Angel before TVD was ever conceived of. I LOVE ANGEL THOUGH. And not only because he's hot, um, no, really. I've had Angel rec-ced to me and will definitely look it up after this.

YOU ARE MUCH TOO NICE AND I LOVE YOU. I don't think I can tell you that enough ^^

It is definitely Cordy! She is one of my favorite characters of all time and I'm actually pretty psyched that you are experiencing that for the firs time. It's kind of like when I meet people are just NOW getting into HP. It's so magical.

Yes, I'm aware that sounds terribly corny, but whatever!

Oh, I know, it's like when someone starts watching something I've loved since ages, and I'm all AFGJHERJGN about it and ALL THE DISCUSSION and HAVE YOU REACHED THAT PART.

It doesn't sound corny at all :D And if it does, then I'm pretty much on that road as well xD

Just dropping in to say that I literally just finished watching Angel, and I finished Buffy like a month ago. It does feel weird to be one of very few people watching such an old show for the very first time!

And fist bump for the Willow love and Cordelia love (Cordelia gets even better on Angel)!

Ohh, well, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I'm really glad that Buffy fans are so into the show so as to discuss it even after all this time! It would suck if I had no one to squee over it with :D

I think I'll watch Angel after this, because it sounds fantastic from what I've heard! ALSO, YES, WILLOW ARE CORDELIA DESERVE ALL THE LOVE. *hearts*

FEEL FREE TO TELL US ALL ABOUT ALL YOUR THOUGHTS.

I am genuinely surprised by how much I like all the characters. All of them. Usually I choose my favorites and the people who can get eaten, but I literally love everyone on this show and care about them, ‘tis odd D:

Yes! Buffy is one of the few shows where I adore the entire ensemble (and still do, several years and re-watches later!); the thing as a whole is delightful. And they all only get MORE AWESOME.

I’m the only person in the world watching this right now

hee! Believe it or not, you actually aren't.

I DON'T THINK I WOULD BE ABLE TO RESIST. RESTRAINT, LET ME SHOW YOU THE LACK OF IT.

Oh my god, I always get so ridic excited to hear the ensemble's good. Because usually when I like the supporting cast a lot and they get no attention, I start resenting the protagonists for taking up all the screen space; but here, even in the first season, the other characters seem really well developed!

Hahaha, I'M SO GLAD. Must start reading this guy's recaps! (And he's even further behind than I am /what up)

YOUR ICON IS A++++ AND EVERYONE GROWING, JUST GUH. Although I am wondering how that happens; WHAT IF THE SHOW GOT CANCELLED IN THE SECOND SEASON? Like, if TVD had seven seasons I'm pretty sure they'd have to stop w/the love triangle, seven season of D/E/S will-they-won't-they would be enough to put off everyone D: But here, like Buffy/Spike hasn't even happened yet, so HOW DID THEY WAIT TO BRING OUT THE A-NOTCH STUFF. /things that keep me awake
