Caroline says something about how she doesn't like sports cars because they're "too hard to make out in", which just makes you cringe for her because she's so obviously trying too hard.
Caroline's sex-positivity is really interesting to me. As much as she's so adorably proud of herself for being all worldly and saying the dirty words and PEOPLE HAVE SEX DEAL WITH IT WOOO SHE SAID IT, it's also in part that her worries are really not moralized at all and it's so great to see a realistic girl that age without that particular baggage.
Caroline is annoying, she actually says the wrong things, she's much too bitchy, much too insensitive, much too into boys and much too insecure. Of course, these are the exact things that make her my favorite character, because she's just so ( ... )

THIS EXACTLY. It's not that I want them to go at it (which also I wouldn't mind, to be very honest), I just want them to be in the SAME FREAKING FRAME. Like, I'm pretty sure Paul and Candice could carry it on from there. There's some really good chemistry there, and I just want them to see the show realizing it and making them the best bffs forever and ever.

When she first appeared on screen, as this girl who was kind of bitchy to the lead, was thought sort of useless by pretty much everyone, tried to hit on the male lead and openly advocated sex ( ... )

Ooooh, ouch, that's really true. Though now that I'm thinking about it, I can't remember her ever blaming whatever shitty situation it was on having had sex? She's hard on herself by exaggerating a lot of her - I don't even want to say flaws, but, certainly difficulties - but she seems really not to have internalized those sex-shaming narratives. Which makes her even more awesome.
"Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. Sex." will forever be the most adorable thing ever
OMG SO CUTE.
It's like they're all just tolerating her? Which, what? HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT CAROLINE FORBES IS THE BEST FRIEND EVER?
Yes! It didn't bother me so much in the first few episodes, because she hadn't gotten to flex any of those muscles besides jockeying to be the queen bee, but yeah, once everything went to hell and she was still so amazing for them even though they were shutting her out, there was no excuse for marginalizing her like that.

Oh my god, I would've possibly stopped watching the show, negl. I love how TVD treats sex so casually-- it's not constructed as an absolute, only for love or whatever. Caroline sleeps with Damon because she doesn't feel pretty enough that day, Stefan and Elena sleeping together is big for them but not momentous on its own because Elena's not a virgin (I think Caroline mentioned that Matt and she were each others' firsts).

TRUFAX. I love how all her problems are so very, very teenage, even in midst of all the supernatural stuff; the clothes, the bonfires, the school festivals, parties, boys. It's just, CAROLINE, MY LOVE. And there's rarely been any slut-shaming in the show (apart from Damon and Katherine, because he tends to ( ... )

NEGL, I TOTALLY CRIED AS WELL. It was so utterly fantastic. And seriously, my obsession with fictional stuff makes me reevaluate my life at regular periods, but the writers/actors should be proud of themselves :D

For some reason I just can't ship Stefan/Caroline in a sexual way, but I want them to be besties for forever and all time. I miss their cute little faces around each other. NOBODY MAKES STEFAN LAUGH LIKE CAROLINE DOES. D:
She so happy with Stefan for "always looking out for me" (which, oh Caroline /pets) and that's all she really needs. Somebody to listen and not constantly be told that there are more important things.
YESSSSS. THIS IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THEM TOO. Stefan doesn't make demands or expectations on Caroline like both Matt and Tyler do. It's so great for Caroline that she can be such close friends with a guy who isn't secretly vying to get into her pants or trying to score brownie points with Elena. He just cares because he cares, that's it, there's no agenda. And in return, she makes him laugh. <3333 ( ... )

You know, that was seriously the moment I fell in love with Stefan. I'd seen episodes till 2x11 in a week, and I was firmly a Damon girl. AND THEN THIS SCENE COMES ALONG AND I DON'T EVEN. Initially I was actually mad that they added in the Stefan/Elena 'love you' (also, because I wasn't an S/E fan then. I JUST SAW ALL THE EPISODES IN A WEEK, SO I KEPT MY OPINIONS STATIC FROM THE FIRST EPISODE ONWARDS, FORGIVE ME) because I felt the entire scene should've been about Caroline. But then every time I see it again, I realize, how could Elena not have said it at that moment? As in, who could possibly not be in love with this flawless human being? Elena needed to say it at that moment.

I watched all of TVD in about a week up until 2x09! I was only just right ahead of you! (And tbh sometimes I don't even know how I came out of it shipping S/E so hard because when I first started watching, I was so unimpressed with them. Oh show.)

HAHAHA I REMEMBER READING THAT COMPLAINT AT THE TIME. But yes obviously I agree. It's such a small scene but answers the question of why Elena loves Stefan, why she wanted to be with him over Damon. (Annnnnnd now the version of himself Stefan destroyed to save Damon's life? MY HEART D: S3 IS MESSING WITH IT SO MUCH.)
Season 2 canon that features Stefan/Caroline is NEVER weird. (Considering we have no S3 canon for them as it is :s) ALL THE LINKS. I WANT ALL THE LINKS.THEY NEED TO HAVE SOME SCENES ( ... )

I CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE WHAT STEFAN WILL BE LIKE NOW. With his 'humanity' back on and all (whatever that means). He will never think himself worthy of anyone ever again. D:
Also my secret wish for S3 was to have Caroline on Team Stefan and making excuses for him because STEFAN IS HER YODA/MENTOR but she has barely mentioned him at all. SIGH.OH MAN. The only S/C thing we got was Tyler saying something about how Caroline keeps nagging him about how it's his fault that Stefan is in that situation, and a glance (which made me *fangirl squee* negl) when he came back to school. THAT IS NOT ( ... )

IS THIS TRUE OR WHAT. How does this cast even exist? It’s like they put Bonnie and Alaric into one scene together and WHAM- chemistry.
Except for poor Matt where chemistry goes to die.
Hee, I concur, yes.
For me there is no one single reason that motivates his desire to help Caroline.
Exactly, for me it stems from who Stefan is as a person. He genuinely cares that much and he would do it for a whole host of reasons. He tried to calm Vicki down as well, to help her, which is fantastic and then he had to stake her himself. And I imagine he wouldn’t want that to happen to Caroline, even if only because she’s Elena’s friends. I love that their friendship grew, it didn’t always exist.
I also think the audience is predisposed to sympathize with Caroline over Elena.
In my opinion, this is true now. Now there’s a general tendency in fandom that everything Caroline does is sunshine and rainbows. There is also this awful, inexplicable ( ... )
