[voice]
Ow! What was that for?
[A pause as Delia collects herself.]
Is this some kind of armory?
[ooc: Delia stumbled upon the band room Tess was messing with the inventory's old guns in, with mun permission.]
omg guns,
discovery,

All's quiet, so he hears distinctly the sound of a door shutting nearby; turns the corner and sees a tall red-haired lady silhouetted in the hallway.]
... Hello?
Reply
Hello! Are you the one I was just talking to? ...On this?
[She holds up her communicator.]
Reply
Pretty sure, yeah. You're the lady who found the guns?
Reply
They're in here, yes. [She turned and opened the door for Mello.]

Guns. Guns and fresh ammo, and with the constant struggle to find bullets around here, having a windfall like this is damn near a miracle.
He turns to Delia with a pleased half-smile.]
This is a good find; think you could help me carry it over to inventory? It's just down the hall from here; that's where we keep any stray items we find around the city.
Reply
That's fine. I'm not sure how you're supposed to carry these, though.
Reply
Force a neutral expression, start gathering up the guns, checking the safety.]
If you don't want to handle the guns, that's fine. Just gather up the ammunition and follow me. Two trips should be enough to take care of these.
[A pause amid the clatter of metallic barrels--he forgot to pretend to ask:] What's your name, anyway?
Reply
[She gathers up any loose rounds and deposits them in the ammunition boxes lying around, though through ignorance, ends up putting different calibers and kinds of ammunition in the same boxes.]
Oh, I'm Delia Ketchum. Sorry for not remembering it before.
Reply
Now that he's got an armful, he motions with his head to the door.] Ready? I'll show you where inventory is. Food, blankets, random supplies--it's all there; usually you just have to talk to the girl managing it. Her name's Moa.
[He's busy balancing the guns, but looks up to introduce himself in return--] I'm Mello.
Reply
[Closing up the boxes and hoisting them into her arms, Delia is ready to follow Mello.]
It's nice to meet you, Mello!
Reply
There aren't many of them, and Rail isn't in evidence, but Mello does a count daily--seems safe so far.
Speaking of inventory safety, though...]
That reminds me. We've been having some trouble with a small yellow rat in inventory. I think it's called a Pika or something? [He drops the guns into the appropriate pile and pulls back to let Delia put her burden away.] It's a bit hard to catch, so we've been asking people for tips.
[Which is a lie, but this is worth a try, at least. He doesn't want the thing eating its way through the inventory.]
Reply
...You mean Pikachu? He shouldn't be a problem, he's very well-behaved.
Reply
Maybe he's housebroken, but I doubt he's been trained to be around guns. If he sets one of these off by accident, it won't be pretty for anyone.

[Thinks about it for a moment.] It might work if he agrees to stay with Moa and not dig around on his own. [Can't quite believe he's banking on the reasonableness of an electric rat, but] Maybe he can be a backup security measure for inventory, who knows. [Shrugs.]
