Apparently Penny Arcade has discovered the Anita Blake series.

That is, however, possibly the best sum-up of the series I have ever seen though, and the main reason I stopped reading them after Obsidian Butterfly. Fun, slightly cheesy vampire-executing romantic suspense antics are good; the formerly celibate heroine being spit-roasted by two ( Read more... )

My one friend started to read her books and explained them to me, which pretty much was WTF? I mean like softcore fantasy porn in like St. Louis how much more WTF? can it get. At least be in a cooler city. Though the woman has done well taping into that strange fantasy sex, nerds need. Though I have to say she needs a new freaking website, that thing looks like 1994 ate it and threw it back up.

Also while I think more dogs need to be adopted, I do think that ad was way over board.

The ad isn't about adoption, BTW. It's about laws banning or restricting certain breeds of dogs.

Hmmm when I went to her site, that add didn't show up just one for dog adoption, so I thought they were the same thing. I watch a lot of animal cops and I think I can understand why in certain areas they ban dogs, epically pit bulls. It's sad for responsible owners, but if a large percentage of the dogs are just going to be used for dog fighting I think it's better for the dogs if no one can have them.

Well, the first of her books are pretty good, but after about 10 or so they DO descend into fantasy S&M furry porn. (I do approve of the St. Louis-ness of it all, since I'm from Kansas City. Missouri represent!) Also surprisingly, her audience seem to consist of a lot fewer nerds and a lot more middle-aged women than one might expect. D:
