I was surprised to hear David Attenborough announce that certain long-tailed macaques lived in barley, but it turns out that they live in Bali, which seems more reasonable.

Fact 1: Luna 1, a Russian probe, was the first spacecraft to land on the Moon.
Fact 2: NASA has a website that lists 5000 years of solar and lunar eclipses.

I am mildly disappointed that these facts are actually about the moon.

This time I have an advent calendar with LUNAR facts, so we shall see how many of them have to do with the moon, or a moon...

I know we need a score like this, but I still don't particularly enjoy watching it!

The first chapter of my current library book* ends:

Today, instead of the usual recent pattern of starting off with a pleasant early morning and working up to an uncomfortably warm late afternoon, it was already uncomfortably warm by 9am, and then got steadily cooler through the day (and sometimes very wet). Anguished wail from the other end of the office this afternoon.

"Now I'm alphabetising the ALPHABET!"

What she was actually doing, it turned out, was taking piles currently split by initial and putting them in proper alphabetical order. The poor alphabet is fine.

I measured my knitting and found I had about 12 inches, knitted maybe an inch more, and measured it again to find I now have 11.5 inches. I'm a bit scared to knit any more in case I end up with even less...
