Coffee Shop

I would write this myself but *currently swamped under other prompts and school* I might actually get to it myself one day, but until then, hoping someone will fill my need for fluff.

I guess I want snapshots of Wally and Dick meeting a coffee shop (i.e. Wally is working, Dick comes in, vice versa, or a chanced meeting that now regularly occurs).

Small fluffy stuff like (if one of them is working) they remember what the other always orders (or change it up, they never order the same combination of things twice so they always have to guess?), first meeting, new things being added to the menu, someone has a hidden musical talent?!, [strike]the confession[/strike]. *cough*

My OTP is Wally/Dick. 8)

Bonus: Books are involved. (likes the idea of Cafe + books)
Bonus x2: Daddy!Bats is somehow involved. (cause can never have enough daddy!bats)

Make it as cliche and fluffy as you like anon!

the 1 cream+37 sugars was actually a reference to JLU, where JLU!Wally says a line where he takes his coffee with 1 cream and 37 sugars. yeah I sort of have a thing for JLU!Wally, ehe.

After that day, it had been more awkward for Wally than ever.

This particular day he had taken to hiding behind the bookshelves. It was getting harder and harder to stay under the radar, since Dick noticed him whenever he entered the café, often waving a hand and smiling at him when he wasn’t busy serving customers.

Not that Wally was complaining.

He sighed and leaned his back against a shelf.

It was so easy to talk to him. Why can’t I just go up there and talk to him now? Sheesh. Wally though, his face twisting into an expression of annoyance

The only coherent thought Wally could think of when Dick found him surround in a neat circle of chicklit was, Wow, he even looks cute when he’s surprised.

“… I didn’t know you were into chicklit.” Wally’s face began to redden as Dick put a hand over his mouth to muffle his laughter.

“I read it for… research.”

“Research?”

“Yeah.”

Wally was turning as red as his hair, and it was adorable, Dick mused.

“… alright then, research. Have fun with your, uh, research then, Wally.”

Wally can’t help but stare as Dick walks away, still carrying a box full of novels that he’d probably re-shelf later when Wally was finished ‘researching’.

“Wow. I might as well be ice because that was just smooth.” He grumbles to himself, slowly sliding down the shelf he was leaning on. He sees Conner notice him and give him a curious look before turning away and following Dick’s path.

Just great. Wally thought, before picking up another novel (“With Fabio on the cover, so it must be good.”) and burying his face in the pages.

Wally groaned and fell into a chair, seating himself in a table right across from Dick, who seemed to be free to goof off, seeing as no one was around.

“Surprised that a rush of people haven’t come in yet,” Dick hummed, casually wiping the counters clean with a wet rag. “They usually come in by the dozens when a downpour like this happens.”

“Well no one’s out on the streets in rain like this.”

“Seems so.”

The grin that lit up both their faces was enough to send chills down Connor’s back, who was working in the back.

“You know what that means?” Wally asked, grin outrageously large and dorky.

“Oh yeah.“Book Fort!” The two proclaimed in the unison, Wally already heading for the library, and Dick swiftly jumping over the counter and following the older boy

You... just make me happy with how awesome this it. It's got the dudes just chillin' bit in there but it also has that awkward skirting around their feelings bit too. It's really awesome. =)

with the near summer months approaching, she was flooded with work and hasn't been able to update any of her fills and she's sorry
