The Question anonymous November 26 2011, 20:40:32 UTC
Oh yes. He exists in the YJ-verse. I just loved him in the Justice League cartoon, so bring him over. Robin would love him.

Renee Montoya. Renee Montoya. Renee Montoya. I know she's probably not the Question yet in yj!verse, but having her interact in any way would be awesome.

Tentatively accepting but if anyone else wants a crack at it, go ahead. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Renee would be a perfect fit for the team. They desperately need someone to dig around and put all the pieces together.

A/N:Not the one who claimed this. I used the male Question because I'm a LJU cartoon sort of anon

The zeta tube inside the entrance of the Mount Justice lair whirred as it opened up for the new arrivals. The team had been informed that their new Justice League liaison, their "caretaker", would be taking the place of Red Tornado and Black Canary since they had been away on Justice League business. The Identification robot's voice carried throughout the cave.

Batman: 02

Martian Manhunter: 07

The Question: 33The team stared as a hurried Batman held a man in a blue hat and coat and no apparent face in front of him by his shoulder. The faceless man was looking up at the ceiling of the cave with his pointer finger and thumb wrapped around his chin as if giving the wall considerable contemplation. J'onn looked ahead passively and with less urgency, though M'gann was looking at him in concern. Superboy gave the faceless man a strange look as he seemed to mumble to himself ( ... )

"Batman!" Robin yelled, eyes wide and his hand extended to where his mentor had previously stood. The rest of the team got into alert stances and The Question was examining the floor where the Caped Crusader once stood. J'onn touched his communicator and spoke ( ... )

"Thank you." Superboy just stared hard at the floor, arms crossed. J'onn walked back toward the portal. The identification robot scanned him.

Martian Manhunter 07J'onn looked back at the distraught group of young heroes as the zeta tube whirred, speaking plainly ( ... )

Fuck yes. The Question is my secret favorite (no-he's-not-an-Objectivist-stereotype) love.

Hell yes. I only wish there was more, anon.

[okay, so finals have been upon me so yeah, this isn't finished yet. And yes, I do believe Renee and Vic desperately need to be in YJ, they would be awesome.]

The first time Robin meets them, he doesn't quite know what to think. Granted, he's only been doing this for six months but he doesn't think a suit and the sweater-dress thing the girl's wearing are exactly practical for their work. Honestly, he would've passed them on the street without a second thought if it wasn't for the fact that neither of them had a faceStill, he tries to maintain a professional composure. This guy has to be good if Batman is asking him for information. The thought's less comforting than he'd like. The girl surveys him under that faceless mask as their mentors stare each other down. Dick thinks Batman might actually lose a glaring contest. For once. Then again, how fair's the contest when one participant can blink without anyone noticing? But the man nods at Batman, tipping his dark blue fedora at the hero, and the stalemate is broken ( ... )

Questions through the years [1b/??] anonymous December 9 2011, 23:57:12 UTC
Three days later, as Bruce is taking the evidence to Gordon to formulate a plan, Alfred hands Dick a package of his own. No return address, save a question mark, a simple one, not like the Riddler's, in the left hand corner.

Dick pulls the note out first. Its handwriting is plain, save a few flourishes on the r's and m's.

'Question everything. Misdirection is our best friend.'

Dick knows he should be unnerved that the Question or his student found them. But he can't be, not with the skill it would take to figure out their identities. And if he admits it to himself, it's kinda lonely, no one knowing what he really does. Not even Wally knows Dick.

He hides the books before Bruce returns. Somehow, he doesn't think his mentor would appreciate a treatise on how drug cartels were really running the government. But the volume on hacking, and specifically how to hide your trail with the least amount of effort, he plans on memorizing ASAP.

Besides, it's not like Dick actually told them he was Robin.

Dick can learn a lot about fail safes from those two.

Awesome so far. Now that everyone knows that Wally knows Dick's identity, it's rare to come across a fill exploring the 'what if he doesn't?' and the ensuing loneliness. Can't wait for more!
