I don't know if anyone's already done a prompt for this, but this is my first time, so I'll take a chance. And, you know, who doesn't like a good alternate dimension story?

The gang is called on to investigate some weird energy readings originating from some random place. When they get there, they find a boy in green tights with a gold G on his chest. It's Richard Grayson from another dimension- a dimension where his parents never died and he's part of the Flying Graysons at Haley's Circus! Of course, they have to find a way to get him back home and in the meantime, he's sticking around Mount Justice, regalling everyone with tales of the circus (he's used to being in the spotlight). Cue Robin trying not to freak out and control his emotions so no one knows that he and Richard Grayson are one in the same.

Bonus if that team doesn't make the connection but Alt!Dick does (his mom always has called him her 'little robin', after all).

When Batman’s parents had been killed, it was like someone had turned a gun to his soul and had fired, shattering it into a million pieces. What once had been bright and happy became dull and grey, dark and brooding. Each little piece of his soul reflected a twisted version of what it should have. The black pieces transformed him into Gotham’s Dark Knight- a man driven to stop crime in an attempt to cleanse the city of his parents' blood. They made him cold, calculating and distant ( ... )

It's so true. Robin may be broken, but the pieces are still bright and beautiful.

I think this is your best chapter yet.

How long until someone figures it out, though? Eagerly awaiting part 8.

It made me giggle a little when Kaldur talked about how opposite Dick and Robin are, but at the same time, and combined with the metaphor in part 7 about how his parents deaths broke him, I want to cry a little too.

I like the comparison - it shows that, though Robin acts quite cheerful, his parents deaths did change him..."shatter" him. I also like that silent communication thing Robin and Batsy have going on.

Can't wait for the next part! :D

Robin hesitated. Dick rolled his eyes and went back to flipping and turning as he swung from rope to rope. He was mid-air when someone grabbed his hand and threw him upwards. Dick somersaulted and caught another rope. A moment later Robin swung past him and smirked ( ... )

Dang that last line gave me shivers. Oh little Dickie, even from a parallel universe you're a smart cookie! I love seeing how his desire to perform is always there with him, the 'thank you thank you' at the end of his acrobatic showdown with Robin was great.

Poor Robin, it must be so hard for him seeing this other version of himself. Really loving this story!!

Seconding the shivers. Also, I love how Artemis is mean to KF (Only if we lowered out IQ by like, a million points). I really love your portrayal of Alt!Dick. It's interesting, because he's clearly charming and smart, but also kind of a self-involved jerk. Interesting how the Richard Grayson who wasn't raised by a billionaire turns out to be the brattier one.

Can't wait to see how Earth-16!Dick reacts to Alt!Dick's question. :D

Wally jumped back when Robin suddenly punched Dick. The uppercut knocked the acrobat off his feet and sent him to the floor. Well, so much for them finally getting along ( ... )

Turned out there was no need. After searching between all the bookshelves, Wally finally found Robin sitting in the shadows. The hacker was hunched in on himself, holding his legs, his cheek resting on his knees. He looked so small, so hopeless. As he came closer, Wally saw tears sliding down from under his mask ( ... )

You know, this really is amazing. I don't know what's more amazing, just the fic, or how quickly it gets updated. I love it all!!!

Loved Earth-16!Dick punching Alt!Dick. Loved Wally figuring it out, and loved his reaction to figuring out who Batman was. Loved how Robin broke down because he was supposed to be happy, and I loved Wally's confession that his home life is not the greatest. I also love Kaldur asking Dick if he was ok, lovely bit of dramatic irony there.

The one thing, if I had to nitpick, is that I'm not sure how true it rings that Wally would just leave. At least, not without some indication that Robin wanted to be alone.

But yeah, clearly you are the genius author-anon writing this beautiful fic, and I am the humble reader lucky enough to be along for the ride. Thanks for this gorgeous piece. As always, looking forward to the next bit

Unless, is it Robin who walks away? Because then, in that case, sir (or ma'am, though I think sir sounds better), you are a genius, and I am an idiot.

Though in my defense, it's late.
