The Scribblez! Where Haz They Gone?

Oct 12, 2010 21:09

First of all, thanks again for the kind thoughts about my October Challenge shortcomings.  I need to work on my funny, as that was the original intent.  And sinetimore , I really appreciate the offer to stomp the yard with my head if I used those tags again.  I made them all up for that one entry...as puckbunny  would say, "Le Sigh."

And now, I ramble )

scribbles, 750, bacon, writing, flying monkeys

You could write a grocery list and make it interesting!
I nodded as I read, "Yup! Yup!"
I joined 750words because of you writing about it. I've added that to the handwritten 3 pages I do for The Artist's Way. I have always seen a difference between how I write when it's handwritten or typewritten. I like doing both to gain better balance.
I'm tired tonight so this probably sounds flat, but I wanted to say I really enjoyed your post and identified with it.

Gosh, the sheer plebeian mundanity of that list was interesting...

Well said, it is also, with me at least, a function of what else is going on in my life. On an ideal day I try to read everyones post and comment if something strikes me or if I might have a bit to contribute. On a less than ideal day I am lucky to dash off an answer to the Writers Block. I do try to do that as a tiny form of self discipline.

I've been using the 750 site for the self-discipline and by and large it has worked for me. It has also given me the freedom to let it all hang out, reasonably comfortable that what I write there will remain private...

Gosh, thanks Regina. It seemed so rambling and rather aimless to me.

For the longest time, I'd post something hoping for a specific reaction from as many people or even just one in particular and get nothing that I expected. I guess that is the same thing you are talking about. Now, I just write.

I don't know that I like my writing more, but I am more confident in it.

Exactly so.
I find myself struggling simply because I don't find much of what's going on with me these days to be terribly interesting. While it's cool that I can, there are only so many ways to say "I ran" and have it be noteworthy. I can't really regret the change as it's something I need to do but it's not without drawbacks.

Life can be it's own drawback...

Lack of life can be its own drawback as well....

That's pretty much it right there.
I used to be fairly okay with my sedentary life and poor diet thinking that "A man has to die from something." Once it became very real and fairly certain what the "something" would be and how very soon I could expected, I changed my mind. Almost two decades of neglect does not go away quickly so it may be a while to find my balance again.
