Gracie's Competition, or More About Skating

This afternoon I watched the European Figure Skating Championship and really want to share with you a video of the 16-year-old Russian phenom who won the ladies event. She's amazing, so in tune with her music, so fast over the ice, had a gorgeously choreographed program and skated it to near perfection. I predict she will be our Gracie Gold's ( Read more... )

He is such an expressive skater and I loved his intricate footwork. He was amazing.

I got in half way through. Is the French man who one the one who skated to Luck Be A Lady? He was wonderful!

No the man who skated to Luck Be a Lady Tonight was Javier Fernandez from Spain. The French man was Florent Amodio and he skated to a song I've never heard of, Memories of Sabral (see second video above.)

The 16-year-old Russian girl who won reminds me of Sasha Cohen. She's tiny, VERY slender, incredibly flexible and really skates to her music.

I have been watching figure skating on TV (and in person a few times) since around 1980. I love it.
