Wilfred first got me into binge watching. That show worked much better for me on a binge. That got me into binging some of my old, recorded BBC series: Elizabeth R with Glenda Jackson and Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth (the one and only Mr. Darcy).
I'll have to check out Penny Dreadful!

Penny Dreadful is wonderful...VERY creepy. I think the second season is better, but maybe that's because I understand the story better after seeing the first season.

I haven't seen season 2 yet as I don't get any of the premium stations. I'll have to wait for the DVDs, then I'll binge watch it like I did with season 1.

It's nice not waiting a week for an episode, but I'm doing that right now with AMC's Humans. :D

I'm VERY impatient and never wait if I can find a way around it. I absolutely adored Poldark so I pre-ordered the DVD and consequently have been able to see the entire season while it's still on only episode four on TV. The DVDs arrived July 7th.

I also order DVDs from England when a show I like hasn't been aired yet here. I have an external drive for my computer that can play region 2 DVDs just for that reason.

I can't binge watch anymore. I attempted to watch all the "free" Dr. Who episodes last year when they were on Amazon Prime, but I never made it through them all. I was sad when they suddenly pulled them from Prime.

Yes, I remember you don't have cable. We pay a lot for our TV viewing, but it (and the Internet) are my only entertainment here in the boonies. We have crappy movie theaters far away and no special events like you have where you live.

The real beauty of having HBO and Showtime is that you can go to their sites and stream all their shows. And Dish Network's Dish Anywhere lets me watch streaming anything Dish airs.

The one drawback? I have bandwidth limitations, but they don't apply from midnight to 6 AM, so I stay up most nights until 3-4 AM. But I don't get up until 10 so it works out.

There will be a Season 3 of Penny Dreadful, yippee! What a fantastic show. It is definitely my favorite due to the complexity and nuanced character portrayals and the relationships between the characters.

Eva Green and Josh Hartnett are outstanding. And Billie Piper blew me away with her transformation into Lily this season. I admit, I had no idea she had that talent inside her, bad on me.

I want Sembene back - there seems so much more to know about him!

Yay! I'm so glad to hear there will be more Penny Dreadful. I hope Vanessa finally ends up with Ethan. I thought for sure they would when in season one Ethan chose "The Lovers" Tarot card. Didn't happen, but there's still hope.

I couldn't agree more about Eva Green. Her acting is simply off the charts. She was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award, but didn't win. I can't imagine that any actress was better. And Billie Piper was quite a surprise. I hadn't seen her in anything else.

I was also very impressed with Harry Treadaway (who incidentally has an identical twin who's also an actor) and I love Reeve Carney (Dorian Grey.) I saw him in Snow Falling on Cedars when he was just a kid. He's matured beautifully. He was also the lead in the Spider-Man Broadway show that didn't do well. He's a musician and the nephew of actor Art Carney. His brother plays backup guitar in John Mayer's band.

I doubt that Sembene will be back since he's legitimately dead, but with this show, you never know.
