One Saturday night, after Chanyeol has just finished his shift at the café he’s been working at for several months now, he sees himself dialing both of his best friends-Baekhyun and Kyungsoo-abruptly the minute he steps out of the café’s door.

The café he’s been working in is nothing short but the absolute worst, he’s been so close to calling it quits too many times but he has bills to pay and needs to meet. It’s not like he has a choice but to suppress his inner annoyance about his job being managed by a manager who only knows how to lecture his employees for at least ten times in a month.

It’s coming in to the fifth time his manager comes in and greets him in his counter, lecturing him about proper customer etiquettes and by the end of it, he got an earful of words and unnecessary rants that he really doesn’t need at this time of day.

Who the hell cares about the flowers? It’s plastic for god’s sake! he thought when his manager just suddenly came spewing out how the flowers placed at every table isn’t having enough nourishment. And add to the bucket list that contributes to his mood’s downfall are the customer complaints that he had to deal with the majority of his day.

He needs a break, a night out to clear his mind away. And a night out in a club with two of his best friends is exactly what he needs.

Chanyeol calls Baekhyun first because he knows he’ll be up for it. So of course, Baekhyun readily agrees when Chanyeol mentions “club.” No surprise there. Kyungsoo, on the other hand, had been hesitant, but Chanyeol had successfully coaxed him into it, although Kyungsoo had threatened him a great lot by doing his jujitsu move on Chanyeol the minute he meets him. I got a bloody exam next week, you fuck. Kyungsoo grits his teeth on the other line and Chanyeol just whines, it’ll be fun Soo! Come on! Chanyeol replies all too desperately.

Kyungsoo sighs heavily. Chanyeol could imagine him ruffling his hair roughly as he looks down at his notes as he reluctantly agrees. Chanyeol makes kissy noises and screams all too loudly, making Kyungsoo scream out a Shut the fuck up and ends the call.

With a promise to meet up at 9pm at the club they usually frequent, Chanyeol quickly goes home to get dressed, desperate to go to the club quickly to wash away all of his annoyance that’s firing its way up to his soul.

By the time Chanyeol arrives at the club 10 minutes later, he already sees Kyungsoo standing awkwardly by one of the walls not far off the entrance, scrolling through his phone. The line is unsurprisingly short tonight, that he’s glad about.

“Kyungsoo!” Chanyeol screams all too loudly, startling Kyungsoo and making him jump in his spot. He throws a glance towards Chanyeol the second he settles himself beside him, grinning all too wildly, his left eye covered by a mess of red locks. He continues to divert his attention towards his phone, making Chanyeol frown in disdain. “Kyungsoo,” Chanyeol says. “Kyungsoo!” Chanyeol cries out once again, but Kyungsoo seems unfazed, focused instead on the mobile device in front of him. “Kyungsoo,” Chanyeol says, this time much louder, but Kyungsoo still doesn’t respond. Chanyeol tries again and again until he decides to set his lips mere inches away from Kyungsoo’s ear, making the latter, with his quick reflexes, land a hand across Chanyeol’s cheek.

His ears are sensitive for god’s sake and Chanyeol should know better.

Chanyeol feigns pain as he holds one hand up to his slapped cheek. It’s red now. Kyungsoo just snorts as he lets out a you should know better, and continues to focus his attention on his phone. Unbelievable, unfreakingbelievable, Chanyeol thinks as he tries to snatch Kyungsoo’s phone from his hold, but is immediately cut off from the voice screaming its way towards them.

“Yo yo, my two best friends are early!” Baekhyun says boisterously, as he wraps both his arms around his best friends’ shoulders. Kyungsoo attempts to shrug him off while Chanyeol curves his arm around Baekhyun’s waist.

“You two are late,” Kyungsoo says, benign of any emotions as he rolls his eyes to the deepest pits of hell. He is beyond annoyed. He pockets his phone on his back pocket as he turns to judge Baekhyun on what he’s wearing up and down. He’s wearing skinny tight jeans that hugged his legs tightly which makes Kyungsoo feels as if his lungs had been blocked

“Oh, come on Soo!” Baekhyun utters, poking Kyungsoo’s stomach with his index finger, making Kyungsoo flinch and jump on his spot. “Loosen up a bit!”

“Yeah, Soo! Loosen up a bit!” Chanyeol repeats, reeling at Kyungsoo as he tightens his hold around Baekhyun’s waist. He grins, but Kyungsoo frowns.

“How the fuck am I supposed to loosen up when I could be getting through World War 2 in a matter of hours rather than me spending the entire night in a club doing wasteful things with the both of you?” Kyungsoo huffs, all in one breath.

“Ouch,” Chanyeol says, holding onto his chest, a dramatic attempt to show how heart-broken he is. Kyungsoo scoffs while Baekhyun giggles.

“This is why we are here, to make you relax.” Baekhyun says. They are now walking slowly towards the entrance, stopping to cue, Baekhyun’s arms are still enveloped around both of their shoulders.

“Hey, I thought we’re here for me!” Chanyeol interrupts; his arm now withdrawn from Baekhyun’s waist in order to cross his arms matched with a pouty face. He looks like a sulking giant like this, the way his eyes drooping downwards and his lips puckered up in what seems like the poutiest of pouts. Kyungsoo snorts at the sight and Baekhyun mutters out how ugly he looks, which he receives a slap from Chanyeol’s end.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah whatever,” Baekhyun says, “Tonight we’re going to go wild.” The raised eyebrow the security guard gives Kyungsoo as they show their IDs does not go unnoticed by Baekhyun, who laughs a bit before going in.

As soon as they enter the club, a surge of bodies moving sideways and wherever the music, takes them, greets them with an oddly warm welcome. The revolving lights in varying colors from above make Chanyeol’s eyes twitch and Kyungsoo flinch, while Baekhyun just screams in glee. The speaker booms loudly as it vibrates through the walls and makes Baekhyun move towards the dance floor on his own accord. He drags both Chanyeol, who seems fairly excited even though the lights hurt his eyes, and Kyungsoo, who is so reluctant but he lets himself get dragged anyway.

Once they’re on the dance floor, Baekhyun is predictably loud and Chanyeol is all careless long limbs, while Kyungsoo just bobs his head from side to side, his face expressionless. But with Baekhyun’s contagious energy, Chanyeol starts jumping and dancing, even Kyungsoo, surprisingly. They are lost in the music; they dance for a whole lot more minutes. Exhaustion buried deep at the back of their minds.

They feel free.

When the music changes to a slow song, the three of them stop dancing abruptly and the sounds of boos can be heard all throughout the club. Nonetheless, Baekhyun is still so zealous that he’s literally screaming every word that comes out of his mouth.

“Let’s grab a drink!” Baekhyun yells and Chanyeol shouts a yes over the loud ballad music playing from the speaker systems. From the corner of his eye, he can see couples, snuggled up together, so close it looks like they are trying to mold their bodies into one.

Chanyeol shakes his head as he follows two of his best friends towards the bar. His head aches from the loud music rumbling from over the speakers but nevertheless, he feels the adrenaline rush up to his spine, filling him up to the very brim.

Baekhyun orders their drinks and the three of them cheers as they swig a shot of tequila (or wine whatever this is) in one go. Chanyeol feels lightheaded, as if he’s on cloud nine, while Kyungsoo makes a face when he finishes chugging down the drink in one go, making Baekhyun laugh at him and murmurs out how Kyungsoo’s such a softie. Chanyeol laughs too, so Kyungsoo also breaks out into laughter as he grabs another drink and chugs it down within seconds.

After what feels like their sixth glass, Chanyeol announces that he has a stack of beer in his fridge so they agree to go back to his place to have more (free) drinks.

They decide to walk and it’s nothing short but a hilarious disaster. Three, almost drunk men walking down the sidewalk, laughing hysterically at nothing, Baekhyun is the most sober from the three of them and Kyungsoo’s the worst. Mumbling out nonsense about his underwear being burnt by Chanyeol and Chanyeol being the drunk one he is, agrees, ‘well yeah I burnt it because it has poporo or porro or pokkoro whatever that is!’ and that made Baekhyun laughs so hard, clenching onto his stomach for all the hilarity that’s ensuing. ‘It’s Pororo!’ Kyungsoo screams a beat later and Baekhyun laughs more.

When they arrived at Chanyeol’s apartment complex a little bit after 12, laughing boisterously that one of Chanyeol’s neighbor came out of her own apartment room and giving them an earful shout to keep it down. That seem to silence them a bit but it then again comes into full swing noises as they enter Chanyeol’s apartment.

They lost count on how many beers they had snug down when everything turns into a blur.

Waking up with a raging headache, Chanyeol tries to get up but eventually settles himself back onto the comfort of his bed. That’s when he realizes that there’s nothing coming in between his skin and blanket. No fabric brushing against fabric and he thinks that is odd because it’s not himself to not be wearing anything when he’s asleep. His eyes widens when he lifts his blanket up that he’s not wearing his boxers even, that really is weird since Chanyeol makes it his number one necessity to wear his boxers to sleep no matter what the situation is.

Chanyeol’s eyes widen all the more when he noticed the sleeping figure beside him. He doesn’t recall ever bringing back a person to his apartment except for Baekhyun and Kyungsoo. He hovers over the figure to have a clear view of the person’s face, and if it’s possible for his eyes to grow bigger, they do, when he sees that it’s Kyungsoo. Chanyeol cautiously lifts the blanket off of Kyungsoo only to throw it over him all too quickly when he sees that Kyungsoo’s naked too. Oh no.

Chanyeol panics as he slaps Kyungsoo hard on the arm, which wakes up the latter with a painful groan.

“What the fuck,” is the first thing Kyungsoo says as he rubs his eyes, trying to chase the sleep away. He places a hand over his head, trying to soothe the pain away. However, his eyes widen like saucers the minute he realizes that Chanyeol’s naked and he too is naked. They’re both naked. “WHAT THE FUCK!” Kyungsoo screams, and Chanyeol falls off the bed, clearly surprised by the abrupt scream coming out of Kyungsoo’s mouth.

From below, Chanyeol hears Kyungsoo scrambling to search for his clothes, curse words spewing out of his mouth as he panics frantically. Chanyeol’s in panic mode too, so he stands up off of the ground, only for Kyungsoo to once again give him an earful of deafening screams.

“Hide your fucking dick, will you!” Kyungsoo cries, his face flushed, as Chanyeol scrambles for the blanket from his bed to wrap it around his waist. By the time he’s finished covering up, Kyungsoo is already dressed-the same clothes from last night-and in a hurry to get out of Chanyeol’s apartment.

“Kyungsoo wait!” Chanyeol calls out, but Kyungsoo is already out the door with a loud slam.

Chanyeol gives Baekhyun a call, because he only seems to be the one who knows how the hell he got naked with Kyungsoo in bed.

Baekhyun picks up his phone after Chanyeol’s multiple attempts of calling him.

“What is it, you fuck?” Baekhyun says, annoyance filling every word he spits out, and then Chanyeol hears an irritated groan coming out of Baekhyun. Hangover.

“Where are you?” Chanyeol asks frantically as he ruffles his hair in terror. He’s still not wearing any clothes, just the blanket from his bed, wrapped rather not safely around his waist.

“Home, why?” Baekhyun answers, nonchalantly. Sleep still in his voice.

“What the hell happened last night?” Chanyeol asks.

Baekhyun sighs first before he answers, “It’s a wild night, we got drunk, I got drunk, sort of, but sober, you know my alcohol tolerance is good.” Chanyeol scoffs. “You two got it bad. You made out with Kyungsoo, with tongue and all. I laughed, because I found it funny. Went home and let you two get on with it.” He answers rather groggily; a loud yawn from the other end could be heard.

“WHAT!” Chanyeol screams and Baekhyun groans all the more, mumbling how Chanyeol is destroying his beauty sleep before he hangs up on Chanyeol, clearly not wanting to help with the situation.

Chanyeol walks back and forth along his small hallway, complete dread taking over him. He doesn’t know what to do.

After forcefully having been persuaded out of his house, Baekhyun finally agrees to meet up with Chanyeol at 1pm of that very same day in a nearby café.

Baekhyun greets him with a “You look like crap,” when he arrives, casually sitting himself from across Chanyeol. He’s wearing his sunglasses and Chanyeol scoffs at that; Baekhyun never wears his sunglasses, only if it’s necessary. Necessary?

“Did you get punched by Kyungsoo?” Chanyeol speaks out as Baekhyun takes hostage of his cup of coffee. Baekhyun stays silent as he sips on to the black coffee quietly and Chanyeol breaks into heaps of laughter. Of course.

“Shut the fuck up,” Baekhyun threatens, the cup of coffee still in his hand.

“What did you do?” Chanyeol finally asks when his laughter subsides, wiping the tear that escapes his eyes, the product of too much laughing.

Chanyeol sees the way Baekhyun rolls his eyes through the gradient of Baekhyun’s gray sunglasses. “I told him what happened last night, then he punched me in the freaking eye!” Baekhyun says dramatically as he lifts his sunglasses up, chancing Chanyeol to take a look at his bruised up eye. It’s nasty, Chanyeol think as he winces in pain, even though he’s not the one who got punched. Baekhyun brings his glasses back down along his nose bridge, fixing it merely with his index finger so it would stay put.

“Wait,” Chanyeol perks up. “You met up with him?” Chanyeol asks, his eyes widening from the late realization.

“He came knocking on my front door like a Godzilla, how could I ignore that?” Baekhyun draws his hands up in the air; a ‘duh’ full of mock offense comes afterwards. “Then he asked me, no, demanded me to tell him what happened last night, so I told him,” Baekhyun gulps, “and I was not even halfway done explaining when a freaking fist landed itself ungracefully to my precious eye!”

“Well, that serves you right, good job though, leaving two of your best friend behind, drunk at that, while they helplessly fuck each other into oblivion, you’re lucky I’m not punching you right now!” Chanyeol states, snatching his cup of coffee back, away from Baekhyun. “Get your own coffee,” Chanyeol says possessively.

“Your hormones’ lack of control is not my fault. At all. Instead, you should thank me that you got to fuck Kyungsoo,” Baekhyun grins and Chanyeol reaches out to him and gives him a slap on the arm. Baekhyun glares towards him, rubbing away the redness that starts to form.

“He’s my best friend, our best friend.” Chanyeol says, emphasizing on the word ‘our’. Baekhyun looks so nonchalant as he plays around with a piece of tissue, scraping it bit by bit. Chanyeol is irritated now. “Baek!” he calls out.

“What?” Baekhyun looks up, his eyes glinting with mischief and no trace of pity, Baekhyun is cheeky like that.

“What should I do?” at this point, Chanyeol is whining like a little baby.

“Call him? Talk to him?” Baekhyun says, an obvious mock of offense.

“What the hell am I supposed to say?” Chanyeol utters back, his frustration pushed to its max. He looks at his wrist watch, he’s got only a few minutes to spare before he has to run out of the café and towards the other café down two blocks for his job.

Baekhyun slumps his shoulders, attempting to steal Chanyeol’s coffee once again. Chanyeol is too busy thinking, too busy worrying to even care if Baekhyun is also going to swallow down the entire cup as well.

“Maybe you could say, hey Kyungsoo, we were both drunk, and we fucked up, literally, we fucked… up, so like, we should forget it ever happened, not that I don’t like your dick or anything, but best friends?” Baekhyun finishes with a chuckle, the coffee he downs threatening to spill out of his mouth.

Chanyeol groans, utterly exasperated. “He’ll fucking punch me in the eye like he did with you if I ever said that to him.”

“Well, isn’t that the point? Now we can have matching eye shadow!” Baekhyun says cheerily, a sarcastic smile plastered over his face.

“You are the worst!”

“I love you too,” Baekhyun says confidently and Chanyeol rolls his eyes.

“You are wasting my time,” Chanyeol says, standing up from his seat and glances at his wrist watch, causing his mouth to form an ‘o’.

“I feel so sorry for you Yeol,” Baekhyun shakes his head and Chanyeol just watches. “You have the worst job ever and you just fucked your best friend into oblivion!” Chanyeol lands a smack on the crown of Baekhyun’s head.

“Shut up, we’ll talk about this again when I don’t have work,” Chanyeol says as he adjusts his sling bag over his shoulder.

“Talk to Kyungsoo will you,” Baekhyun groans, “it’s not me that you fucked!” He says, matter of factly.

“I can’t,” Chanyeol whines once more and Baekhyun throws a death glare at him before his eyes turns into a knowing stare. “What?” Chanyeol asks, he’s standing while Baekhyun’s sitting and the latter looks so small, yet so smug. Chanyeol wants nothing right now more than to wipe that smugness off Baekhyun’s face. With his fist, preferably.

“Tell me,” Baekhyun says suddenly, clearing his throat before continuing. “Is Kyungsoo’s dick big?”

Without hesitation, he delivers a hard slap to the side of Baekhyun’s head. Nonetheless, the latter can’t help the laughter that escapes from his lips. The pain from Chanyeol’s slap masked by the hilarity of it all.

“Bye, douche,” Chanyeol says, rolling his eyes as he walks away from Baekhyun, who is still a laughing mess.

After what happened that night and after what happened when he woke up in the morning only to find him naked with an equally naked Kyungsoo sleeping beside him, both of them are obviously not ready to talk about it.

Although Baekhyun had been pestering Chanyeol to just go and talk to Kyungsoo about it, Chanyeol had refused greatly.

Besides, what the hell is he going to say anyway? ‘Sorry Kyungsoo, my dick entered your ass, we were drunk. It was an accident. Blame the alcohol and Baekhyun for this.’ No of course not, it’ll make things worse, Chanyeol is sure.

Two weeks in and he still hasn’t seen Kyungsoo at all, not even a strand of his hair. Their group chat in Line, which consists of himself, Baekhyun and Kyungsoo, had been oddly quiet recently. The usual rambunctiousness beeps of his phone had turned into silence over the past few weeks, kind of, because Baekhyun would occasionally drop them a Line of him being the usual annoying ass of a friend, oblivious to the feelings Kyungsoo and Chanyeol are suffering from.

The café he works at is getting quite dull, actually. Usually Kyungsoo would drop by the café to grab his afternoon coffee before going to campus, pestering Chanyeol to give him a good discount and threatening him that if Chanyeol doesn’t, he’ll do a jujitsu move on him. But ever since the incident between him and Chanyeol, Kyungsoo has not once dropped by the café to grab his usual order.

It’s been two whole weeks since Chanyeol last saw Kyungsoo, since that awkward morning waking up to each other’s naked bodies. He only got some scoops of how Kyungsoo’s been doing, thanks to Baekhyun, but that it in itself has proven to be somewhat futile because Baekhyun’s an ass, demanding that Chanyeol pay him 10 dollars for every piece of information he gives the latter. Baekhyun’s an ass and Chanyeol is so close to hitting him with his drum sticks.

He’s on a break and the café is scarce of customers so he’s glad. He scrolls through his contacts list in his phone, stops at a familiar name, and contemplates whether he should call Kyungsoo or not, as his thumb hovers over the green button.

It’s been two weeks and he can’t take this anymore. Ignoring each other without coming to a conclusion. It’s awkward knowing you had sex with your best friend whom you’ve known ever since you were a fetus. But Chanyeol wouldn’t let this ruin his long-time friendship with Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo had always been a constant in Chanyeol’s life for as long as he could remember. He has known Kyungsoo far longer than Baekhyun. He values his friendship with Kyungsoo, and although Kyungsoo would hit him on a usual basis, he knows Kyungsoo cares for him as much as he cares for Kyungsoo.

And this Let’s Avoid Each Other Until God Knows When tactic doesn’t really sit well with Chanyeol. There are so many things he would rather not lose and his life-long friendship with Kyungsoo is one of them.

He takes a deep breath and throws away all the pride he’s been holding onto and just gets on with it. His thumb hovers over the green button for a while, then he clicks on it so fast, for a second, he thinks of clicking the red button the next.

But he’s got to do what he’s got to do.

When he hears the sound of rings from the other line he’s so close to giving up but then he hears a click sound, signaling his calls had been answered.

“Hello,” a raspy voice that sounds so much like sleep, speaks over the phone.

Chanyeol glances over his wristwatch and it reads a little bit over 9am close to 10am and it’s a Thursday. It’s odd for Kyungsoo to still be asleep.

“Kyungsoo,“ finally says, But then, he thinks he hears the sound of Kyungsoo swallowing a huge lump in his throat and a whisper of a curse from the other line until he hears a loud, disquieting beep. He got hanged up. Kyungsoo hanged up on him. His fucking best friend hanged up on him. Chanyeol’s heart doesn’t hurt. No it doesn’t, it’s still intact, but with cheap ass glue.

He heaves a heavy sigh because he truly doesn’t know what to do anymore. Call him again? Only to be hanged up on once again? No.

He puts his phone back into his back pocket as he gets out of the break room and towards the counter. He puts the Kyungsoo issue at the very back of his mind, he would have to deal with it later because clearly, Kyungsoo is still not ready to talk, much less, see him this time around.

Chanyeol figures he’ll have to give Kyungsoo more time to think.

He ruffles his hair as he sets up his signature smile towards the customer next in line, ready to order his choice of drinks and some muffins. His eyes crinkle from the way he’s smiling too wide, but there’s no sincerity in it whatsoever.

“Chanyeol!” Baekhyun cries out his name, kicking his shin in the process, making Chanyeol wince in pain. The latter throws a heavy glare towards Baekhyun before kicking his shin in return, resulting to a dramatic wince of pain from Baekhyun.

“What the fuck?” Baekhyun mutters, rubbing on his shin to soothe the pain away. “I didn’t even kick you that hard, you shit!” He continues, his eyes forming in slits while Chanyeol just smiles smugly.

“You shouldn’t have started it,” Chanyeol says nonchalantly, grabbing his cup of coffee and taking a sip.

They’re seated by the huge window of the café Chanyeol works at. He had just finished his afternoon shift, which coincidentally Baekhyun decided to drop by and coax Chanyeol into buying him coffee and everything nice Chanyeol could afford off the menu. Of course, Chanyeol had protested with a ‘buy your own coffee,’ and surprisingly enough, Baekhyun did.

“Well, you shouldn’t have avoided me.” Baekhyun bites back, grabbing his donut and munching it down ungracefully.

“I did not,” Chanyeol protests, putting down his mug and squinting his eyes towards Baekhyun.

Baekhyun rolls his eyes, “but really though, talk to Kyungsoo.” Baekhyun presses, he turns serious and Chanyeol’s eyes wanders around the café, acting as if he hadn’t heard what Baekhyun just had said.

“Chanyeol!” Baekhyun half screams, but not loud enough to turn the attention of the customers towards them.

Chanyeol sighs, shifting his head, his eyes now set on Baekhyun’s. “I tried,” Chanyeol says defeated.

“Once! You only tried once!” Baekhyun says rampantly, holding up his index finger. “You have to exert more effort in it, Yeol,” he pauses, bowing his head down to get a look at Chanyeol, whose head is slumped down. “And you’ve known Kyungsoo longer, so you should know him better.” He continues, his voice softens a bit. It’s not everyday that Baekhyun looks like this, worry clearly etched onto his face-is like this: a Baekhyun actually concerned with his friend.

Chanyeol hums as he plays with the pot of plastic flower placed in the middle of the table, scraping against its petals with his fingers.

“Chanyeol, did you hear me or not?” Baekhyun questions, his eyebrows furrow in frustration.

“Yes, Baekhyun, clearly.” Chanyeol answers, his voice dull and his attention still set on the plastic flower in front of him.

Baekhyun grunts, his frustration, starting to show. “Talk to Kyungsoo,” Baekhyun repeats. “As soon as possible, will you? It’s giving me a headache seeing how you two won’t even meet and hang out with me together, like what we used to. It’s annoying and infuriating seeing the both of you wallow in self pity and misery.” Baekhyun snaps, enough for Chanyeol to turn his attention towards his friend. Clearly, he can see the row of lines forming on his forehead, the dark circles fainting under his eyes. He pities Baekhyun (sort of).

With the whole incident, both Chanyeol and Kyungsoo had been going to Baekhyun for advice, although he doesn’t really give useful advice most of the time or just maybe when they need some sort of comfort. After all, where would the both of them go and rant about their problems? Because even though Baekhyun can be such a jerk sometimes… most of the time, they’ll always be searching for him. And the incident, which okay, he might have been the caused of for not even trying to prevent two of his best friends from fucking each other, and its consequences must have taken their toll on Baekhyun because this time around, he’s willing to meddle and help his best friends rekindle their friendship.

Chanyeol heaves a heavy sigh, because clearly, Kyungsoo wouldn’t do anything to solve this problem unless Chanyeol approaches him first. And these past few weeks had been hell.

“Okay, I’ll talk to him.” Chanyeol finalizes.

Baekhyun squints his eye at him, contemplating. “Make sure you both do talk and solve this problem,” he says. “Gosh, I didn’t know you two fucking each other would turn into this, if only I knew, I would have stopped and prevented the both of you from having sex under the influence of alcohol that night.” Baekhyun mutters, clear to Chanyeol’s ears.

“Too late to feel guilty about it now, douche!” Chanyeol says, leaning back against the chair.

Baekhyun says nothing, but throws a glare towards his way.

After much contemplation for several more days, Chanyeol had decided to man up and just get on with it. He gives Kyungsoo a call the first time only to be rejected and then he tries again only to be rejected all over again. After he’s phone calls had been rejected for what seems like the fourth time, he grabs his hoodie and his snapback and went out of his apartment door in full swing. Fuck it, he thought, he’s just going to go and see Kyungsoo face to face if it means he’ll actually talk to him even if his pride would swallow him up whole.

But when an apartment door that he hasn’t frequent for almost three weeks came to view, his reluctance gets the best of him, he nearly makes a run through the elevator door but he mentally screams to his soul to stay put and be a man that he is. Chanyeol bounces up in his feet and when his knuckles almost touched the door, he drew out immediately as if the door was made out of hot metal iron.

He heaves out a heavy breath and brings up his knuckles and gives the door a soft knock, once, twice. Harder on the third and the fourth and by the fifth knock the door swings open and reveals a set of eyes, widening in shock. Chanyeol was prepared for any kind of reaction emitting out of the latter but getting slammed face first by the door wasn’t one.

He cringes in pain once the wooden door made hard contact with his nose. He holds onto his nose which he hoped isn’t broken with both of his hands. He twitched in pain before he regain his composure and once again knock on the door.

When there isn’t any response, Chanyeol is so close to giving up and make that possible run towards the elevator door, in hopes it would also make his shame run away. But Park Chanyeol had gotten this far and he isn’t giving up anytime soon so he gives another knock, harder this time with an added bonus of a whiny, ‘Soo, please, we really need to talk.’

When that didn’t work, he resorts to slamming the door with his palm although not loud it sure would annoy the hell out of Kyungsoo. “I will not stop doing this unless you open this door and have a talk with me,” he says, loud enough that he’s sure Kyungsoo would hear.

When that also didn’t work, he keeps on knocking on his door and repeatedly calling out Kyungsoo’s name loudly and that seems to get onto Kyungsoo’s nerves because one full minute later, Chanyeol could hear the click sound of the door being unlocked and he smiles to himself. But the smile fade away like the blue hues of a sky the minute Kyungsoo gives him a frown and a deadpan, “shut up will you!” And that seems to shut Chanyeol up. He just stands there dumbfounded while Kyungsoo walks away into his apartment, leaving the door open; a silent invitation for Chanyeol to come in. But Chanyeol can’t seem to find it in him to enter Kyungsoo’s apartment, his feet glued to the floor and he’ll admit that he feels a little bit scared. Because an angry Kyungsoo is a scary Kyungsoo and he has a change of mind if this talk would ever go anywhere if Kyungsoo’s not in the right state of mind.

For a second he blames himself for enraging Kyungsoo this way and for a second he sees himself walking in hesitantly into Kyungsoo’s apartment. The apartment is what he remembers it to be and it had felt like ages that he hasn’t been in Kyungsoo’s apartment.

Kyungsoo’s sitting by the couch at the tiny living room, playing with his phone. Chanyeol walks slowly towards him, and when Kyungsoo doesn’t acknowledge his existence, he clears his throat to catch Kyungsoo’s attention. The latter looks up with his eyes narrowing in on Chanyeol and Chanyeol gulps before he starts his impending speech that he had prepared the night before.

He goes through the speech in his head carefully and starts, “Kyungsoo, about that night,” he gulps and Kyungsoo puts his phone away, staring down at the floor, refusing to meet Chanyeol’s eyes at the mere mention of what had happened that very night. “We were drunk, and we weren’t thinking right. I can’t remember what happen that night except us going to my house and starts gulping down lots and lots of beer and after that everything’s just a blur.”

Chanyeol looks down at Kyungsoo who refuses to even spare a glare at him. “It’s that, just -“ Chanyeol grunts out of frustration and Kyungsoo looks up for a mere second before he continues on looking down at the floor, playing with his fingers. “Just, I am sorry, it has been so awkward lately and you are my friend, my best friend and I don’t want our long-time friendship ruined because of this. I know it takes a lot of time for you to recover from all of this because I know that night, that night, I was your first and I am sorry I have steal that away from you, and you might not know this but Baekhyun’s sorry too. He can be a douche sometimes but he does feel guilty.” Chanyeol is rambling endlessly to this point on and Kyungsoo just looks up at him not saying anything, contributing to the major factor on why Chanyeol is feeling all sorts of nervous.

After a moment of total silence, Kyungsoo clears his throat, “and I am sorry too for ignoring you for all of three weeks really, I do value our friendship although you can be such a nuance sometimes,” at that, Chanyeol lands a light punch to Kyungsoo’s shoulder, on reflex, and to his surprise, Kyungsoo lets out a laugh. The sound feels like a breath of fresh air.

Chanyeol laughs too, softly which is so unlike him. “So? Back to before? Forget anything has ever happen between us?” Chanyeol says all too enthusiastically.

“Back to before,” Kyungsoo repeats. “The forgetting part though, I’m not sure.” He says in wonder. Chanyeol smiles at that, feeling satisfied. “That is just simply unforgettable.”

“Well then, friends?” Chanyeol suggests, hesitantly.

“Best friends,” Kyungsoo says in a huff of breath, relief filling him up. And Chanyeol smiles even brighter.

Everything is okay now.
