“That’s very good, Chris,” D said.
Leon nodded from the couch. “You’re reading is getting a lot better.”
The boy smiled proudly. But then he frowned and glanced back at the book. “But what does it mean?”
Leon and D exchanged glances. “Well, kiddo, it means… uh,” He glanced at D who shook his head, bewildered. No help there, then. “It means… opposites attract.”
“Like you and the Count?”
Leon held his hand out and D took it with a soft smile, squeezed and then let go.
“Yeah, something like that.”

A/N: The term 'Hey diddle diddle' can be found in the works of Shakespeare and was a colloquialism used in much the same vein as "hey nonny no" which can be found in traditional English folk ballads.
From the 16th century to the 19th century (Victorian era), “hey nonny no” was a euphemism for the vagina. Kind of casts a different light on an otherwise innocent nursery rhyme, doesn’t it? *ahem*
