I agree with your choice not to go. I know those kids are important to you, but Nechama in a car on shabbos for a party plus all of you in a non-orthodox shul, plus the walk plus possible weather making it all for nothing, etc

Just FYI my kids have green snot from September to May with very little exceptions.

As strange as it may sound Nechama being in a car on shabbos, is the least of the aggrevating things. It may sound strange but if we ever went away for shabbos without her(can't imagine it) I conciously know she'd be doing non shabbosdik things.

I'm less bothered by that then my dad's fixation on 'can she have treif until she's 3'. As I mentioned that another friend of others attitude in terms of their kids. But then again that's also a friend who won't wear tzit tzit, until we can refind the techelet? blue string fish(you know what I mean it doesn't come out right.)

I know the sick thing is normal and typical. i'm just glad b'h that Nechama no longer has the bloody crust under her nose that she's had since before Yom Kippur.

And honestly I know I'll do right by the kids anyhow. one of them I promised a coach purse to(I'm not buying it, I'm giving her one of my many.) and the other two I don't have a clue in the world.

It's not weird. I've never spent a Shabbos away from my children either. I also don't like the idea of a Jewish child, no matter the age riding in a car when there is not an emergency on Shabbos. It is nothing like a goy just pushing a stroller outside an eruv.

As for the non kosher before three thing that is here no there. Your child can't benefit from non kosher food.

Honestly, there were so many aspects to put together that it was just seeing like a frustrating situation. Also since we're all sick. And Nechama threw up on shabbos and wound up with a bad yeasty diaper rash(and lovely diahrea sp)

The messy diapers have been so bad, that yesterday I picked up with clean clothes because my baby sitter had to give her a bath it was soo bad.

I agree with you about the food. I have been permissive in terms of crackers or like baby snacks. But I'm trying to get better. it's also easier now that she's able to eat almost everything not nailed down. She can have a regular graham cracker or chip, you know rather than 'only something she can't choke on' like she sorta gets the chewing eating thing.
