It only happens when a hurricane makes a direct hit. The Houston/Galveston area hasn't had a direct hit since Alicia in 1983 so it's been a long time coming for us to get slammed.

its so weird because here we are so used to hurricanes, but then when they hit other places im so worried. i really hope their is no damage to you and your family homes.

and i hope electricity comes back really fast. we had 3 weeks without it in 2005. v_v and i've been to texas and at least we have tropical winds so i cannot imagine the heat.

Yeah we are used to them, but this is the first time we have taken a direct hit since Alicia in 1983. So I think people forget about it until it happens. *sigh*
