I hear you on the flu... The media is hyperventilating based on very little understanding of the situation, as usual, but anyone who knows anything about the 1918 pandemic seriously cannot think joking about this is remotely funny. That one had healthy young adults at breakfast dying by dinnertime. I hope this swine flu isn't about to become the next worldwide version.

I'm poking fun just to stop the outburst at people going absolutely crazy way before they need to. I saw somebody in Walmart today with their cart full of facemasks (they were wearing one), and she stole somebody else's bottle of Purell out of their hands. This more than likely because our mayor issued a state of emergency for the city because of one "suspected" case at CSULB that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Also (and Lisa said she had a friend with similar experiences), according to my resident friend at Children's Hospital LA ... they've got apeshit parents demanding Tamiflu for mild cold symptoms.

Case in Point: THE MEDIA NEEDS TO STFU!

I am kind of nervous about some of my family though. They live right outside of Mexico City and they're not the type that has quick access to healthcare.
