Changed ...??

I'm sorry...
I have been wondered about this for long time, but Is there anyone who know why Yami no Matsuei style art changed ?
I'm so curious because it's really different with the art before hiatus...
Someone tell me please~  T_T

Artist's styles change over time.
There was such a large gap of time between YnM going on hiatus and it resuming that her art changed drastically. You could see the beginning of the change in some of the few one-shots she'd release occasionally.
I'd be very surprised and somewhat worried if there had not been any change in her art in the 8+ years she took a hiatus.

You can even see a huge change between the early volumes and volume 8-9, and even a difference from those in volume 11.

I heard a hand injury was to blame. Not sure if there was ever any confirmation on that, at least not as far as I bothered looking to find out. I would hate to think that the change was intentional. If it was, then... I don't even. :\

ETA: I agree with the above comment that styles can change over a period of time. But I've never personally seen anything quite this drastic.

I'd heard she'd had a cancerous tumor removed from her wrist, and considering that the wrist is a tricky thing for even the best orthopedic surgeons to put back together after something that drastic, it likely had an effect on her drawing style.

Oh really? :(

I never had specifics, so thank you very much for letting me know! I'm surprised that there was never any press about it (as far as I know).

Glad to help! And yeah, there wasn't a lot of press about it: apparently, she wanted her condition kept on the low-down since she didn't want people fussing over her and so she could focus on the physical therapy, etc. that came after she'd healed up.

No, her art right now is some of the best in shoujo manga.

I really like her old style, but her new one is still lovely. It just takes getting used to because I associate the manga with her old stuff.

im all for the new art, but I got to admit my favorite phase of her art was in the tatsumi´s day one shot. I was sooo pretty, the lines, the layouts, the anatomy, he looked so handsome there. All mangakas gow. look at the first volumes of oh my goddes youll see what i mean!

LOL sorry for my grammar, must’ve been in a real hurry! What I meant to say:

“I’m all for the new art, but I got to admit my favorite phase of her art was in the Tatsumi´s day one shot. It was sooo pretty, the lines, the layouts, the anatomy, he looked so handsome there. All mangakas grow. Look at the first volumes of “Oh my goddess!” you’ll see what I mean!”

Another change in an artist style that comes to mind is Rei Omishis work in “Sorcerer Hunters” for example…

CLAMP art style as well has changed. There a certain feature that stay similar but they as a group have been all over the place. lol

I do like the new style but feel terrible confused by Tsuzuki's hair cut. lol He didn't have long bangs in the beginning but had grown so use to them.

I see... So that's the cause...
I'm fine with the new, but it can't be help if I'm curious because the art is changing so drastically..
Thanks everyone ;)
