Just wanted to say feeling so sad about Gil Scott-Heron's death. I saw him, eventually, for the first and sadly now, last time at Brixton Acadamy last December. He was as wonderful as I'd always known he would be. I first got in to him when I heard "Johannesburg" in the early 70's. Started me on many years of activism when I found out what it was

I'm not on-line much any more, generally just to check e-mails and skim LJ. I just felt the need to honour Gil Scott-Heron in some way, his music has been an important part of my last 35-40 years.
If I can figure out how to do it, I'll try to get it together to post some of the music I'm listening to at the moment. I've been meaning to for a while and now I can't remember how to do it! Duh, menopause-brain for the lose.
