Venting...ARRRG!!!!!!!!
The day started out really well. I to the West End, popped into Forbidden Planet geeked out for a while a bought a couple of mags. Went onto Stanfords the map shop, geeked out again (I love maps), bought a couple of maps of Scotland as I'm off up there in a couple of days. I then went to the British Museum intending to see the new Persian exhibition but ended up in the Africa gallery instead. Spent a wonderful couple of hours there (The Persian stuff is on untill Jan so I'll go back), then came home, tired, with achy feet, but feeling great. I intended to spend the evening watching Spooks (which I did) and filling out the form for the Rent Tribunal.
My/our landlords have decided that even after giving us rent increases for the past 5 years, that they're going to increase the rent again. This time by a wapping £40 a week!. The previous rent increases were about £40 a month, they told us at 5 years ago they were going to do this and our the rent at the time was very low, there wasn't much to object to. They are on the whole, pretty good landlords. Anyway, went we got notice of the last proposed increase, once we'd come out of shock, we decided to take it to Rent Tribunal on mass. I've been organising it all, getting the forms and reminding everyone to fill them in. They're due to go to the RT office next week (the proposed increase is due from Nov 1st). So far so good, except that, as usual, I've left everything to the last minute and I now can't find my tenancy agreement!!!! I've turned this place upside-down, I've found the tenancy agreement from my last flat, I've found wage slips going back 15 years, I've found papers on courses and projects dating back even further (I'm a wee bit of a hoarder, "No!" you say!) but I can't find the frelling, fracking, tenancy agreement for this place which I moved into 4 1/2 years ago!!! It's got to somewhere, as you can tell, I'm pretty anal about keeping stuff, but I just don't know where else to look. I'll have another look in the morning, I'm too frazzeled to carry on now and if the worse comes to worse I can always go up to the office and get a copy from the landlords office but it SHOULD be here somewhere ARRRG!!!!!!
Ok, deep breaths, going to find some comfort fic (or maybe alcohol) or both.
