Nope. Sorry. I don't buy it.

If I hear one more Republican say that George W. is not really a Republican I may strangle them. You know what I think?

Probably going to offend. )

issue: politics and government, what: rant

I will tell you that Adam was a died in the wool republican.. until the year 2000. For the first time in his life he crossed party lines and voted for Gore. Then in 2004, he gave up his membership in the Republican party and registered as an independant for the first time in his voting life.

He maintains that he is still a republican... but the problem is, the republican party left him. So he is left feeling lost and unsure of what to do. He doesn't like the democratic platform. And he CANT STAND the republican platform. And I flat out told him that if he votes for any ticket that has Palin on it, that I was divorcing him. ;)

LOL. I'm just SO frustrated at the stuff that's going on now, and I'm really, REALLY not intentionally trying to offend anyone, but I have to get it all out somehow, you know? So it all gets dumped into my LJ.

I'm not thrilled with either platform either--I would rather have had Hilary as the democratic canidate, but I DO truly believe Obama is for regular people and not just the uber rich.

Died in the wool. You know, that's the second time I've done that, said Died instead of Dyed for Dyed int he wool. Anyway...

I am a lifelong democrat. Am I happy about the democratic platform? Well... i will tell you that I am more intregued with this particular platform than I have with any that have been up in the last 2 elections.

I am not sure what is going to happen, but I feel likee this week has been very indicative to how the candidates would react in a crisis situation if they were elected. McCain, i believe, was given just enough rope to hang himself. No one needs to do anything to bring down his campaign. He's doing a great job doing that all by himself.

Yes, McCain would ask to postpone the crisis. :P

Bush is a Republican. Republicans need to own up to him and get over it. Democrats own Bill Clinton and they don't think that sometimes we wish we didn't?

Sounds like your politics are going to shit as badly as ours is! I voted for Labour, oh sure....and in reality I need to vote for them again, but they have SO badly fucked up our country I don't want to vote for them!! I think we need a new prime minister, and new cabinet members. Bring in the oldies who knew what it was to protect a child! These "younger" politicians (well they're all in their 50s or so) have turned this country into shit. Prostitution is legal. Kids can get drunk at 15 because their parents or guardian are legally allowed to buy them alcohol (in fact ANY child of any age can! the law is that fucking stupid). Gangs rule riot on the streets in numerous parts of the country. The cops are a joke. They wanted kids to legally be able to have sex at THIRTEEN (whoever the sick fucker was that suggested that bill should be permanently expelled from parliament ( ... )

Lol agreed. God. I'm on the edge of my own political rant here. Although I'll do that later, the last thing Bush and McCain are taking from me is my daily walk! (Although they would like to take it to give to the rich. I don't know how, but they'd find a way.)

I like Obama. I know some people don't and that's fine, as long as they still recognize he's the "lesser of 2 evils" or what have you.
