Honestly, just put the brakes on. I used to be the person who bought everyone a million gifts for all those stupid reasons (how many showers/parties/etc. can one person have for a wedding?!?!). Then, you will find, not many do the same for you. So my piece of advice is to take your life back and make it yours. If you have to get a gift or something, make it personal or print some photos of when you were good friends, and if you aren't close enough to do that...then don't stress over buying them something.
Go buy yourself a gift instead, and make it a reminder that you are taking your life back.
Do you have any options yet for next year? You can always come live with me ;-)
And sorry if there are typos in the above, I am on about ten pounds of pain meds because my horse crunched my little pelvis!
Are you okay? I saw your post on Facebook. Ouch!! Hope you're resting.
I'm happy to celebrate milestones in my friends' lives, but seriously - how many parties, etc. can one person have? My friend's maid of honor e-mailed the bridesmaids to ask who would chip in for a hostess gift for the bride -- at her own bridal shower that she was hosting after I bought her a gift and a lingerie gift AND a bridesmaid dress.
I'm just frustrated that no one seems to understand that my job isn't always 9-5, that I have to work weekends sometimes, and that I can't make everything -- especially when you tell me last minute.
I'm glad you understand. :) Miss you too. Come visit!
