Oh yeah, now were getting somewhere. So the Doctor thinks Adam's work is rubbish and that he isn't good enough for her. Poor Rose is having a difficult time accepting the fact that she was willing to settle for less than what she really deserves. I was happy to see how comfortable Rose was talking to the Doctor about her life.

I really liked the dialog between Rose and the Doctor. It was very in character for them and fit well into the era of which you are writing. I especially liked this:
"You should not think so little of your friend, Doctor. No, I believe he is the one who prevented the damage. I made a foolish mistake and allowed myself to be convinced by a man that he loved me. The night we were to announce our engagement he was caught with a servant girl. He'd been leading on other girls as well ( ... )

Another fabulous chapter. You wrote the Doctor and Rose's first meeting so well and already you can see he's taken with her. I hope the Captain understands though what the Doctor was trying to do.

Rose is so wonderfully strong even in this fic although she is at the moment confused but having such strength in such a society is going to cause problems no doubt. Heading to the next chapter now.

Gah! Yes~! They met. Nine and Rose are just too freakin' cute. Hee, his ears were going red. :D

You are weaving their personalities so well in such a totally different setting and time! The Doctor telling Rose Adam doesn't deserve her and Rose being (although not blatantly) outraged by his forwardness. :D

Balancing their personalities against the social norms for that time was really fun. I tried to stay as true to them as I could. I'm excited that you think I'm doing a good job of it. :D

Overprotective!Jack is so adorable. I really love him.
