This is the
2010 Crossover Exchange
Sign-Up Post

Please read the Rules and FAQ and then copy this form into an email, fill it out, and send it to xover.exchange@gmail.com. The Subject line should read: YOUR LJ USERNAME - Sign-Up

Sign-ups will be open until 11pm September 17th (New York time).

I know this looks like a really huge sign-up sheet, but crossovers can be hard to come up with, not to mention match, so I'm asking for lots of fandoms and prompts in order to give writers as much choice as possible and the mods more matching possibilities. Since you don't know which two fandoms will get written, try to leave prompts for as many combinations as possible. There are instructions for each question, as well as a sample form to help you get the idea. If you're anything like me, you'll get addicted to thinking up prompts and won't be able to stop, so it's probably a good idea to take a couple of days to flesh out all the fun ways of getting the combinations together. :)

AS A RECIPIENT: This part of the form will be sent to the person writing for you.

Favorite Fandoms You'd Like to Read About:
These MUST be from the list of qualifying fandoms. The minimum is five, but please list as many as you can, as this will make it easier to match you. Remember that any two of these may be crossed over. Alphabetizing your list will make my life a lot easier.

Prompts: The following should be thought of as two completely separate sets of prompts.

Prompt Type #1 - Themes:
These are general prompts that can be used for any characters in any of your listed fandoms. Don't specify any fandoms or characters. Please list at least five.

Prompt Type #2 - Pairing and Scenarios:
List crossover pairings and/or scenarios you’d like to see---as many or as few of each as you like (but more is always better, since you don’t know what fandoms will be written!). After each pairing prompt, please specify if you would like (gen only) or (gen or romantic). ‘Romantic only’ is not an option. My advice is to load up on pairing prompts, since they are easier both to think of and to write. Also, research has shown that the more specific the scenario prompt, the less likely it is to get written; leave short set-ups, not plot outlines.

In the following questions, simply list concepts and names; character bashing and other unnecessarily negative commentary (eg. “slash is icky” or “Sam sucks”) will be edited out before being sent to your writer.

Rating Limit:
How high of a rating would you be comfortable receiving? "NC17 only" is not an option.

Squicks & Triggers:
Ex., non-con, death, gore, torture, etc.

Genres You Like:
ex., angst, action-adventure, fluff, crack, etc.

Genres You Dislike:

Het, m/m slash, f/f slash or gen only preferences:
List all that you are happy to receive; you can't veto gen. Gen means not romance-focused, but canon pairings may still be present in a background way.

Characters You Don't Want Your Crossover to Focus On:
Max 1 character per fandom if fandom has six or fewer main characters; Max 2 per fandom if fandom has seven or more main characters. These characters may be mentioned or appear in the background of larger ensemble stories, but they will not be the 'stars'.

Common Fanon Pairings You Don't Want Your Crossover to Include:
You are NOT allowed to veto canon pairings. Common fanon pairings are pairings that are popular subjects of romantic fic, but the characters involved actually are not/have not been together in canon. Vetoing the characters as a romantic pairing simply means that you would prefer them to be written as they are in canon. All fanon pairings featuring your vetoed characters are automatically out, so there's no need to list them. The same goes for incest, slash, het, etc. pairings if you said above that you don't want those things.

Fandoms You Feel Comfortable Writing:
Please list as many as possible, but four is the minimum to participate in the exchange. All fandoms must be from the list of qualifying fandoms, but don't have to be the same as your recipient requests. Remember that you may have to write about any two of these. Alphabetizing your list will make my life a lot easier.

1. Alias
2. Being Human
3. Inception
4. Lost
5. Narnia
6. True Blood

Prompts: The following should be thought of as two completely separate sets of prompts.

Prompt Type #1 - Themes:
These are general prompts that can be used for any characters in any of your listed fandoms. Don't specify any fandoms or characters. Please list at least five.
Prompt: immortality
Prompt: random drunken hookup leads to surprising discoveries
Prompt: next-door neighbors or roommates fall in love
Prompt: vacations gone awry
Prompt: characters played by the same actor are actually the same character
Prompt: nothing good happens after 2am

Prompt Type #2 - Pairing and Scenarios:
List crossover pairings and/or scenarios you’d like to see---as many or as few of each as you like (but more is always better, since you don’t know what fandoms will be written!). After each pairing prompt, please specify if you would like (gen only) or (gen or romantic). Romantic only is not an option. Fandoms: Alias/Being Human Pairing: Sark/Annie (gen or romantic)
Fandoms: Alias/Lost Pairing: Sydney/Sayid (gen or romantic)
Fandoms: Alias/True Blood Pairing: Jack/Pam (gen only)
Fandoms: Being Human/Inception Pairing: George/Eames (gen only)
Fandoms: Being Human/Narnia Pairing: Mitchell/Edmund (gen only)
Fandoms: Being Human/True Blood Pairing: Annie/Jessica (gen only)
Fandoms: Lost/True Blood Pairing: Sawyer/Tara (gen or romantic)
Fandoms: Lost/True Blood Pairing: Jacob/Godric (gen or romantic)

Fandoms: Alias/Being Human Scenario: Irina dated Mitchell in the late 80s. Did this influence her subsequent Rambaldi obsession? (feel free to go somewhere else with this, instead)
Fandoms: Alias/Inception Scenario: Someone hires the Dream Team to get information out of Sark. How do they build it and what do they uncover? Or is even his subconscious a slippery eel?
Fandoms: Being Human/Lost Scenario: Annie helps a dead rockstar named Charlie Pace to resolve his death and move on to the afterlife
Fandoms: Inception/Lost Scenario: Juxtapose, contrast and explore the concepts of totems and constants. Desmond is the most obvious subject and would be great, but I'd also be happy with any Lost character(s).
Fandoms: Lost/Being Human (or True Blood) Scenario: Miles can hear dead people's last thoughts. Vampires are technically dead people who keep having thoughts. So logically, this should make Miles a telepath of vampires (and ghosts).
Fandoms: Lost/Narnia Scenario: The island is kind of like the wardrobe and kind of like Telmar (ie., it straddles both words and has a time warp). A stop there is a missing chapter in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'.
Fandoms: Lost/Narnia Scenario: Edmund was a candidate.
Fandoms: Narnia/True Blood Scenario: Lafayette and/or Jason and/or Sam in Narnia.

-I stopped watching Alias after season 4, so I am unfamiliar with characters and storylines introduced after that.
-I adore all the Narnia books, so feel free to use characters and storylines from ones that haven’t been filmed yet, especially 'The Horse and His Boy'.
