I kept delaying posting it, because I'd said I would post more than one at a time, but no one else submitted one, and

Hey--so happy to see this! I was just thinking about this exchange, and thinking that it was the only exchange I did last year that I really enjoyed from beginning to end. Liked writing, liked the fic someone wrote for me, liked seeing all the great, inventive stories people wrote. So I really hope you do do it again (though, could we re-poll the fandoms? So interesting new ones have emerged this year!).

Yay! It's always encouraging to hear you'd be excited. I had fun last year, too. I'm definitely thinking of swapping out a few that no one was interested in last time in order to make room for some new ones that have become popular. However, there will be so few swaps that I'm not sure yet if I'm going to go through the whole polling process, or at least not the way it was last year when there were 11 spots open... we'll see).

yeah, a poll seems a lot of trouble for only a couple of spots. To me, it seems like Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie), Sherlock (BBC 2010) and Inception (which I know nothing about, but which floods my flist) are too big to ignore--but that might just be my tiny corner of fandom.

And I'll put in an unabashed plug for White Collar!

Those are all definitely on my radar; I actually have a list of fandoms that I think should be added. Either we're in similar corners, or else we've got a good read on fandom at large. ;) I'll make a more formal announcement later on about the list...

You have no idea how delighted I was to see that icon pop up on my FL. Somehow I totally missed the Grab Bag announcement. Actually, I was also moving cross-country, so I can't guarantee if I saw it I would have participated just then...but nevertheless!

This was the most fun I ever had with a ficathon/fic exchange. I am DEFINITELY up for it again! If you do decide to run it again, I've recently discovered a lot of really talented writers in the Bioware fandom - I know you did tv last time exclusively (which really was the best way to go and I don't really think it should go too far off that base even though I'm suggesting an expansion) but you think that video games might also make a small fandom appearance? (They have cut scenes and big sections of video...haha)

I'm definitely thinking of tweaking the fandom list this time (still making a decision on how I would want to go about doing that), but unfortunately, I think keeping it mostly to mainstream tv shows, with a few movies and books-made-into-movies makes the most sense. There are just so many video games that I am scared of opening it up and there being drama about this one versus that one, etc. Sorry!

Maybe do a quick skim and see which of the fandoms that didn't get a lot of love? Might be a way to skim out two or three?

Don't worry. I've already done that. I've long known exactly which ones are going, but I'm waiting for more formal things to make a proper announcement. It's hard to say goodbye, though! :)
