Today, one of my past co-worker and close friend is graduating from a business college tonight.

Also, just a moment ago we sad news; a past co-worker and close acquaintance passed away, this Tuesday. He had just retired from the county a few months ago.

talk about the "flip side of things"...

Yesterday, my aunt was sent home to be in familiar surroundings. All that can be done; has been done. One less concern for my mother to be back/forth between cities. Hopefully, soon she'll be coming home and just be with her family. We may encounter some obstacles @ times, yet not ones we cannot overcome somehow/someway.

Life goes on...

Today my tia Raquel begins chemotherapy; although the doctors are trying as a last resort with no "real expectations" before sending her home to "endure her illness in familiar surroundings"...my only worry is my mom (with her own illnesses); I know this is really leaving "her ragged"...

Our return trip was uneventful; by bus all direct to Austin. Delays @ the border; inspections/etc. Arriving much late in the afternoon, the following day. Tired, frustrated, hungry and very achy [from sitting for so long]. Still having to go to the airport and pick up my mom's truck from long term parking. Today we lay to rest: F Gpe Vega in Central Mexico. Our day very somber and our walk following the hearse very quiet/tearful [only the children and seniors rode the bus to the cemetary; everyone else walked all the way out of town]. After all the years of living in another country; I never realized how large the Mexico family on my mother's side really was until this recent loss. I not only met family which I never had met before, yet also family acquaintances which have known us through the years thru their interaction with my grandmother.
