So Wilkes-Barre made national news this week because of some serious flooding. Thankfully it turned out to be not as serious as they thought, but they evacuated people just in case ( Read more... )

i think you worries about the subway stuff are totally valid, and it's your bosses responsibility to think over stuff like that. if you don't get answers i would call a corporate office just to let them know, because in the long run it could be them that had to end up paying stuff, and i'm sure they would want to know.

and mad love to james blunt. that songs makes me cry.

In all of my business knowledge. . .I really don't know if he'd be mandated to reimburse. I think it has something to do with a code of ethics and good business practice, and I believe you have the rights to refuse if he won't cover all of the bases.

I'm taking business law this fall, so I'll probably be able to answer things like that better then :P.

I'm glad to hear you weren't flooded at all. I was calling people at home like crazy to make sure they didn't float away =)

That's another thing Jim said, that I have the right to refuse to make deliveries. Of course, then he can always cut my hours because of that and I can't do anything about it. =(

Yeah your boss is an idiot. Don't go throwing around information that you aren't informed about and expect people to just accept what you say because you are "the boss". I'm proud of you for questioning him! And I think if you are on the time clock, and you are going on a delivery, they are responsible for what happens to you. But he should be finding this stuff out, obviously.

And oh, Goodbye My Lover is the ONLY song on Back to Bedlam that I like. I cried to this song for months haha.

i would crach my car on purpose to see them all go nuts at work.

my job doesn't not require a lot of driving, but once in a while we have to get something from another store, and we are reimbursed 44.5 cents per mile. ALWAYS.

as for them calling your question foolish... that's like the worst management i've ever heard. one, they should never make you feel like that, and two, it's an incredibly valid question that they had not even considered at all.

i don't know what the laws are on that stuff, but it sounds like no thought has gone into their plans AT ALL. ridiculous.

Linda is a terrible manager. She ridicules people and yells at them in front of customers, she's stupid, she does shit wrong all the time...yeah. Basically, she's a fucking moron.

Really though, I don't think any thought has gone into this at all either.
