Random Vampire Drabble

Apologies to my flist because you are about to get hit with three entries from me.

I wrote this for open_on_sunday's prompt of "Royalty">: http://community.livejournal.com/open_on_sunday/1890780.html

Title: Munching on Paris
Character: Random Vampire

In the olden days, feasting on royals was a treat. They were well-fed and well-groomed. Their blood was rich and filling. They could afford the best meats, wines, and cheeses. They ate well, we ate well. As long as you stayed away from those bleeding Russians. And those inbred Hapsburgs.

But in the modern age, the new American royalty, it wasn’t even worth it. They were more plastic than skin. Their blood was malnourished and they tasted of nicotine and drugs. And most vampires would tell you, there was hardly enough blood in their emaciated bodies to fill a teacup.
