It wasn't so much that your jaw dropped.

You looked simultaneously surprised and pleased and awed and amazed...
Your eyes lit up in delight and it was just such a wonderful expression.

It's hard to put the emotion into words, but meeting her was clearly something you had been hoping would happen for years, but eventually you forgot about that longing, only to be reminded when it finally happened and it was even more marvelous than you had imagined.

Does that make sense?

Heh. I don't think I ever met her on Usenet, but I was a regular reader of alt.fan.wednesday until it died. And for some years thereafter, I think.

I don't really remember why. It's probably chorus's fault, though, somehow. Or, at least, I'll blame her.
