Yeah- a great deal of them represented the past, but there were a fair few in my present and future categories, too. The Devil was in there, too, which worried me from what I'd read of it, but apparently it didn't mean anything too severe or bad in the context of the other cards in the reading. I forgot the other cards, though, so I'm a bit lost now. :/
The Devil isn't actually all that bad, it represents stagnation if you allow it, and knowing it's there is always helpful in combating whatever is making it pop up. Now the Tower? That is bad. But I am not fond of cataclysmic outside forces screwing up my life.
I think they were- my dad was definitely nervous- but that didn't stop any of us from being totally honest and open with each other. It was like, for once, I could actually relax and be myself around my family members without risking criticism. Made me think; "well, I can't be that bad really".

I think The Tower may have been one of my 'past' cards, actually, which would make some sense.
