Although he had tried to balance out the teams overall, Kakashi had a specific reason for placing Sakura Haruno in his searching team. She was a close friend of Naruto's, and although he wanted to find each and every one of the missing students and staff, he felt a slightly greater sense of obligation toward his own mentor group members for no other reason than the fact that they were his responsibility. Alfred, at least, had relatives who were participating in the search.

He had selected Miku Hatsune for the group because she seemed timid but earnest in her desire to help, and Yumichika Ayasegawa had been selected as the final member largely due to the fact that he was one of the first students to volunteer, as well as to balance the team out.

"Fortunately, it hasn't snowed since the disappearances," he said. "So if there are any unusual tracks, they won't be concealed by new snow."

Yumichika owned no less than ten pairs of shoes-- that he brought with him-- so he wasn't sure what counted as "unusual tracks," but hey, maybe they'd find some tracks of like guys with duck feet or something. Did anyone at the school have duck feet?

On the bright side, Kakashi looked like he knew what he was doing, and Yumichika was pretty good at following orders. Well. Sort of.

This would be way easier if everyone was given standard-issue shoes. But that would be a drag, and he's sure kidnappers would be able to notice that everyone was wearing the same shoes and find a similar pair anyway-- but he was overthinking the situation.

"So which one of us has enhanced smell?" Because that would probably be a better lead.

"You know it's not me Yumichika." She was familiar with him from their almost getting killed on the last rescue mission, and she looked around wearily. She'd been searching on her own, over and over, but no sign of Naruto. He couldn't just leave her again. He wouldn't.

"Tracking isn't my best skill." But she planned on remedying that.

Miku was fairly certain she recognized Sakura, at least, but the other student's identity escaped her. She'd switched up her hairstyle, dropping the twin ponytails for a bun to keep her admittedly piles of hair out of the way. "It's not me... Do you have tracking skills, sensei?"

Just in case somebody wants a word with Kakashi and isn't on his team... copies_you August 2 2010, 21:20:32 UTC
Given the evidence of time travel, although he wasn't ruling the Hand out all together...it didn't seem to be their usual mode of operation at all. Even as he followed some tracks, his thoughts were on who or what else could have sent the angels, or if they were, in fact, sentient beings with some reason to send people back in time.

And to think that he'd left SHIELD (for now - he had no delusions about them being finished with him entirely) for an easier job.

Irene's group thefinalpromise August 3 2010, 00:48:07 UTC
As far as names went, Irene couldn't say that she was familiar with any of the people that had been given to her to look after. That in itself was hardly a bad thing; she could hardly have been expected to keep track of all of the various students of the institute. It also meant that she wouldn't be aware of any troublemakers - should there happen to be any - but that could be dealt with when it came up.

For now, however, there were more pressing matters.

"We're all here, I trust?"

Karrin, however, was familiar with everyone except the teacher. Well, she knew Ulquiorra from various sparring matches and conversations about a certain club and Bumblebee just stuck out to her for some reason, though they had probably not exchanged a conversation before. Otherwise, she knew the teacher's name and that was about it. This wasn't about the group though, this was about the students and staff who were missing.

"I think the groups were kept pretty small, so yeah. Where are we starting our search?"

Bumblebee remembered Ulquiorra from that monster attack a few months ago. The teacher and the other girl he had seen in the hallway before but never spoke to them. But that seemed like It would change since they had to work together.

"What Karrin said." Bee knew they were going to be searching, but he didn't know where they would be searching.

It was hard to forget using a fellow student transforming into a sword and then picking up the transformed student and using him as a weapon against alien beings that looked like a hybrid between crabs and giant fleas.

"Wherever Ms. Adler decides we'll be searching is fine with me," said Ulquiorra with a shrug. He rested his hands in his pockets. The odds of locating a student were slim, but it was possible that they might find something. He knew how to recognize signs of a struggle and was fairly confident Karrin would have some idea of what to look for as well. Bumblebee and Ms. Adler were wildcards in the mix, but at least if there were any threats still on campus, he could always tell Bumblebee to transform again.

[Roxas dashed up to the group, worried that he would be late after realizing what time it was. He'd nearly forgotten about this. Once he got there he took a moment to catch his breath before straightening up] R-ready.

*Holly J walked up, arriving exactly on time. Her group was... odd.* Yeah, let's just get this over with.

*She had little belief they would find much this way. Incidentally she was unarmed but she was wearing a nice pair of leather gloves that suggested she didn't want to break a nail.*

Without a doubt Arthur was completely sure that he did not want to have the added hassle of a team. Especially one made completely of brats. No, he didn't know any of them personally and truth be told he didn't care to bond, either. That being said, he took on the responsibility rather well, though he looked mildly unimpressed as he stood before them.

Wand in hand and scowl in place, Arthur approached the bunch. "Don't become bothersome," he says, giving them a most agitated sigh. "I see no way around this. So let's make the most of it."

Rhys was ready. He knew he wasn't going to be much help with tracking, but he'd loaded his pack with water, energy bars, a collapsible stretcher from the infirmary and his herbal med kit. Along with his healing powers, he figure he was at least well enough prepared to take care of anyone they might find.

Rhys hoped they'd find someone quickly, actually, so he could focus on them and not on how uncomfortable he felt on this team. He'd never met the shorter girl (or even seen her before, come to think of it), but he knew Buttercup was one of the pranksters that had vandalized the rooms of the new kids a while back, along with his, even though neither he nor his roommate were new at the time (Lovino had been even less pleasant than usual that week... ugh). To top it off, he could tell this chaperone was not happy to have students with him.

So, Rhys just stood quietly, shouldering his pack and ready to go wherever he needed to.

Paninya did not particularly like being grouped with such a... a ponce in charge, but she had to admit she was no good at tracking, so having a team like this was probably more efficient than looking around on her own. Still, she stood at the edge of the group, arms folded in a standoffish fashion.
