Maureen had also tried Feuilly's cell phone. And his work phone. And the other job's phone.... In a pair of skinny jeans, a tank top, boots and leather jacket, she rushed into the coffee shop.

Oh, thank goodness it was Thomas working! She let out a sigh and rushed forward... Until she realized that Feuilly would be here around now too not that she had some of his work schedule memorized or something. "Thomas... Hey, babe," she greeted him, albeit a little breathlessly.

Something at the edge of his perception caught Thomas' attention and he looked up towards the door a half second before the door opened. The bell jingled cheerfully as Maureen rushed in, breathless. "Hey gorgeous," came the easy answer. He raised an eyebrow and nodded at the clock. "I didn't think it was yoga day."

Maureen smiled slightly and shook her head. "It's not... I also canceled classes this week... Ah.. something's come up..." she explained, partially trying to calm herself down a little. She was a little more on edge now that she realized he wasn't here.

"You're not too busy to chat a little, are you?"

He swiped at the counter with a wet cloth, brow furrowing as Maureen spoke. At first he'd thought she was just frazzled, but now she sounded on edge. "For you, never." Thomas grinned and nodded towards an empty table near the front. "Luckily, I have a break coming up. Want a cup of tea?"

It wasn't as if coffee had any effect on him, the caffeine flushed immediately out of his body as anything else was, but he had developed a taste for the beverage nonetheless, and had wanted to get out for some air, somewhere he didn't normally go. He had passed this place a few times, and finally decided to go in, ordering a medium coffee and sitting on his own, looking entirely lost in thought.

The coffee machine was running low, so Thomas started a new batch, waiting for it to brew before he filled the order for a grande coffee. "Sorry about the wait," he said, bringing the steaming paper cup over to the young man who'd ordered. He gave the kid a friendly smile as he set the cup on the table. "Need anything else, cream or sugar?"

Toris smiled gratefully and took the cup. "No thank you, sir, plain is fine." He took a small sip, the heat alone shocking his system somewhat, helping his focus. But that just meant he focused on his drifting thoughts and troubled emotions. And his stomachache.

The polite answer made Thomas chuckle, and he shook his head. "Just Thomas. Sir makes me sound like some sort of funless coffee drone." He took a step back towards the coffee counter, but something at the corner of his perception made Thomas pause, made him take a second look at the young man. "You okay, kid?"

Socializing. This was a main reason her Uncle Jack had sent her to Xavier's. It was a foreign concept to the girl that she could just go from the school to town whenever she pleased. So, since she could, she was exercising this right this afternoon. She shuffled along in short cowboy boots and a floral dress with a thick brown belt.

She walked into the coffee shop, purse tucked under her arm, and paused a few feet away from the counter, staring at the menu.... Why were there so many choices?

The bell jangled as the door swung open and Thomas looked up in reflex, a greeting on his lips. He paused, watching as the young woman's eyes grew wide and her expression confused at the endless options on the menu. "Evening," he drawled, shooting her a lazy grin. "Can I help you with anything?"

Cecily's eyes roamed down to the man that had spoken to her. She tilted her head at him, smiling back brightly. He was very handsome... "Good evening," she replied quietly, taking a few more steps forward. "I just seem to find myself at a loss of what to get... I've never had such great a variety of drinks at my disposal..."

She placed her hands on the counter and glanced up, and back down, quickly. "I'm sure you must get this all the time, but perhaps you could make a suggestion?"

"I'd be my pleasure," Thomas replied, resting his elbows on the counter and leaning towards the young woman. "My knowledge is at your disposal." He tilted his head, a dark, slightly curling lock of hair falling into his eyes. "What are you in the mood for? Sweet, bitter, strong enough to have you running barefoot to the city in the next hour?"

Maxxie had mostly gotten over his sulking. Mostly. He still had a bit of a pout as he walked into Starbucks, his hands stuffed in his pockets and his bag swung around behind him. He knew Thomas worked here, but it had almost completely slipped his mind as he had given up on homework in favor of getting a caramel macchiato to fend off the cold and keep him awake a few more hours.

So he did look a little surprised when he looked up and saw Thomas working behind the counter, but he wasn't shocked. It made sense. Patiently he waited in line until he was next to order.

Looking up at the bell's announcement of another customer walking through the door was second sense by now, but at Maxxie's look of surprise, instead of a cheerful (flirtatious) greeting, the young man just got a brief, polite nod. When he came to the front of the line though, he got a friendly grin. "What's your poison, Maxxie?"

"Uh, a grande caramel macchiato. Please," he said, sounding as if he had forgotten on his way to the counter. He pulled out his wallet and began digging around for a sufficient amount of money. Looking a little troubled as he pulled out a ten dollar bill, he apologetically went on, "didn't really expect to see you here."

"Grande caramel macchiato coming right up," Thomas replied. If he noticed Maxxie's discomfort, he didn't mention it, instead marking the cup with the proper notation and making change for the drink. "Guy can't live on parties alone," he joked. "Gotta sober up in-between sometime."

It was getting close to closing time when the bell above the door rang, and a tall, slender girl with glacier-colored hair waltzed in, exuding both a cold sensuality that made it hard to look away. Despite the chilly temperatures outside, she wore only a pair of white leather pants that looked as if they may as well have been a second skin and a bluish-green top made of the same material, its neckline plunging enough to make anyone do a double take.

Not bothering to kick off the light dusting of snow on her combat boots, she headed straight for the counter, green eyes sparkling with mischief as she set her gaze on Thomas.

Close to closing time was as good as closing time, as far as Thomas' particular work ethic was concerned, and he was in the process of cleaning out the last milk frothing pitcher when the door swung open again, bringing into the warm coffeehouse a blast of cold air and a woman to match.

Thomas paused at the woman's entrance, a slow smile warm with the promise of banked embers spreading over his face as his grey eyes took in her appearance. "Evening," he drawled, "What can I do for you tonight?"

Maeve propped her elbows onto the counter, resting her chin on laced fingers as she leaned forward. For a long moment, she didn't say a single word but then she slowly looked up at the menu.

"Oh. Were you asking about that~?"

Thomas resisted the urge to blink in surprise at the response as his grin widened and he mimicked her posture, leaning forward on his elbow. "Not particularly, but it might be a good place to start."
