Michele was turning a corner and happened to catch Jinx flipping. She stood in shock for a few moments, she wasn't able to do anything like that and didn't think that she would be able to do anything like that in her life time.

"Whoa" she whispered under her breath.

Sometimes, one didn't need telepathy to know that one was being watched. Jinx whirled around, spotting a girl with dark hair watching her. She smiled sheepishly. She hadn't anticipated an audience.

"Uh, hi," she greeted.

Her instinct was to hide, but there was no where she could go and just turning around and walking away would be rude, grandfather wouldn't approve of that.

"Hi." She said quietly, "How do you do that?"

"The flipping around? Years of practice," said Jinx with a little smile. "It's great exercise, though. And pretty fun. Have you ever tried any kind of gymnastics before?"

Jack was sitting in an empty classroom, browsing a book on quantum physics, when he saw a purple and black blur fly past the open doorway.

He blinked in shock, looking up from the book, then glanced out in the hallway. It appeared to be empty.

Curious, he walked to the doorway and looked out. There was a girl outside, standing poised as though she had just finished something acrobatic.

He tilted his head and leaned back against the doorframe. Maybe she would do it again.

Sure enough, Jinx began a series of flips down the hall. Sometimes, it was fun to just cut loose and have fun like this, without the motivation of dodging whatever came at her in Combat class. There was nothing to focus on except the sheer enjoyment of doing the gymnastics. Technically, it was dangerous to do stuff like this without a spotter, but Jinx had done worse under considerably more dangerous conditions without incident.

Once she was done, she was about to turn around to start another set when she saw a boy with red hair and eyeliner watching her. She took a bow.

"Shows are every other Thursday at 5:30pm," she said, a sarcastic little smile on her face as she spoke. While she was a bit embarrassed that she'd been whirling around like that without realizing she had an audience, she was aware that she had some talent.

Jack grinned a bit self-consciously at being caught. He hadn't meant for her to know that he'd been watching, especially since he'd gone a bit slack-jawed in awe.

He quickly pulled himself together, pulling his chin back up into a smirk. "You're pretty good at flipping," he commented, drawing circles in the air with his finger for emphasis. "You a gymnist or something?"

With a younger and more innocent person, Jinx would have given a more honest answer. Since he looked like he was in his teens and not entirely innocent, Jinx decided to have a little fun with him.

"I grew up in a travelling circus."

She said it with a straight face, trying to see how guillible he was.

Barbara was roaming the halls, getting acquainted with them; she knew the layout, of course, but she wanted everything to be truly familiar. It was the difference, really, between a haven and a home.

So she wheeled herself through the corridors at a steady but leisurely pace, pausing only when she turned a corner to see a student hopping around. Her brow furrowed as she ran through the catalogue of children stored in her mind.

"Practising, Jinx?"

"Ms....Gordon, right?" asked Jinx, fairly sure she had the new teacher's name right. It was always good to remember people's names, and Barbara had been kind enough to remember her preferred name instead of calling her 'Rosalind'.

"Yeah, I loved doing gymnastics as a kid, and it's rare to find a free hallway in the school. It's too cold to practice outside, and well...the Danger Room has definitely earned its name."

She nodded with a smile. "It's always easy to tell when someone's been doing it for a while." The slightest bit of wistfulness dimmed the appreciation, but it faded quickly as she moved on.

"Do you know where the gym is? Less chance of getting run into, and there are a few bars."

"Gym? Here?"

Right at that moment, Jinx felt very, very silly. How she had managed to miss that after going to the school for so long, she didn't know. She'd always assumed that gym class happened in the Danger Room like Combat class did.

"Uh...no?" she said sheepishly. "Oops."
