[Welcome to the Sunshine Motel outside of Gallup, New Mexico on Route 66, where the beds are cheap, the cable is free, and the showers are disgusting. Feel free to decide your own room arrangements, just don't go in Room 10. Trust me on this.]

Leon's Motel Room likesherswords April 20 2010, 22:07:52 UTC
Leon might notice a jiggling at the doorknob to his room, after a few moments the things opens in a rather dramatic fashion as Mia walks in, dressed for the weather of New Mexico, she's used to cold so she isn't wearing many layers right now. In her arms are a few wrapped bundles, of various lengths and weights, from the look. She doesn't seem too concerned with, you know, asking Leon's permission to enter, or how he's dressed.

She takes each wrapped sword and pulls them out, placing them on the bed. All told she has about eight. Leon isn't in the main part of the room, and the bathroom door is closed. "Leon..." Mia called out, so she can be heard in the other room, "I don't know what sword is best for fighting the darkness. Can you help me pick one?"

Leon sighed as he ran his head under the pounding water, trying to prepare himself for the battle ahead. It was a meditative practice he sometimes engaged in to clear his mind for the task ahead. This time, though, he was interrupted by the sound of a voice calling for him in the other room. Sighing, he turned off the water and grabbed a towel, drying himself off quickly before wrapping it around his waist.

"I'm in the bathroom," he replied, looking around for his pants.

"Well get out here," Mia sounded impatient in her usual upbeat sort of way. "I don't know what weapons are best for beating darkness. You would be the person to ask." Mia eyed her various swords, most of them had no special properties, just blades of various widths and lengths, the exception being the sword Mia was still holding.

The thing had a gold trimmed sheath, the cloth and the grip were black. Black went with everything, and this sword was important. Neither color clashed with the reddish tint to the blade. Glittering from the tempering process it went through, the reason it couldn't duplicate like every other blade Mia has.

"I mean, what is this darkness stuff like anyway?" Mia asked, looking for something to fill the time while he did... whatever he was doing. He could still talk, so it shouldn't be a problem.

DARKNESS BATTLE THREAD notmufasa April 20 2010, 23:07:53 UTC
Leon stepped out of the X-Van into the afternoon sun, shielding his hands as he looked down the large well paved road leading into the center of the Mexican city of Juarez. The city streets were largely empty, the populace having raced to seek out whatever shelter they could from the monsters that had descended on their city ( ... )

Lisa Lisa had left her trademark sunglasses off for this excursion. It made little practical sense to give an enemy formed of Darkness that sort of advantage. Her red scarf blew with the wind, giving no indication of the deadly use she could put it to.

Thus far, she saw no sign of the dark creatures. She had a feeling, however, that this would not last.

Quatre was sitting at his desk in the dorm at the Xavier Institute. His fingers where flying over the keyboard as he brought up the map of the area Leon and the others where in. He nodded when he saw the exact amount of blips on the screen that there where supposed to. The blonde adjusted the headset he was wearing.

"Leon, it's Quatre. I'm in place." He said into the microphone. The blonde swallowed nervously, he hoped that he lived up to what his mentor expected of him.

Leon felt a brief sense of pride when he heard Quatre's voice over the radio. He knew he'd chosen correctly when he'd assigned this task to the boy, and this way he could feel like a part of what was going on while still remaining safe.

"Good work Quatre," he said, his voice serious. "Keep track of the teams and-"

That pause was because in that instant a shadow burst from one of the buildings, its form warping into something that was vaguely insectiod, though it's only distinguishing features were its two burning yellow eyes. Snapping up his weapon in a defensive position, Leon fought back the instinctive revulsion the creature inspired in him, and said, "That is the enemy. Take it out quickly before it can multiply!"
