[Sybil is sitting at a table eating a sandwich. A nice, normal, real sandwich that she obtained from a grocery store during shore leave. Maybe she paid for it! But probably she didn't.]

[mutantbeandogs]

[As she lifts the sandwich to her mouth, a small, round, green object falls from her sandwich and hits the table's surface, bouncing slightly. At first, it appears to be a pea, but then it turns over slightly to reveal tiny ears and a tiny, adorable face. It looks up at Sybil with unbearably cute eyes and makes some sort of soft, indistinct noise.]

[tsuuuuun]

...[Sybil stares. And stares. At the peas, and then at her sandwich.

Slowly, she peels off the top layer of bread to look underneath.]

[mutantbeandogs]

[two more little green pea-shaped things with faces roll out from the sandwich and hit the table with little cries of "ahn" and "oof". The three of them roll together in a wobbly little line and look up at Sybil.

A moment of silence.

And then one of them talks. In an adorable little voice and very, very broken and stilted English.]

Do you know? An average person laughs fifteen time ebery day.

[the little peas with faces and dog ears seem very pleased with themselves]

[In the corner somewhere, Dark is attempting to both hide and enjoy his strawberry shortcake that he's sharing with Wiz.]

Made it good this time, huh? Good thing I got more sugar earlier.

[when the plate is jostled, what appears to be a jellybean apparently rolls out from under the shortcake. It seems to be a normal jellybean until it turns over and oh holy shit it has a fucking face. And ears. It makes a wobbly little "hrmm" sound and stares up at Dark with a little smile on its face. Oh yes. It can see you.]

[Pauses from feeding Wiz to just stare at the ....thing. That definitely wasn't there earlier.]

What. The fuck?

[A moment passes, then two, three, four more of the jellybeans wriggle out from under the shortcake, as if crawling out from hammerspace. They line up in a little row, wobbling back and forth, and stare up at Dark. One of them starts talking, in really horrible broken Engrish.]

Do you know? More than twenty percent men forget their wedding annibersary at reast once.

[pokes at the... "meal" Mama dolloped onto her tray]

[oh god this looks and smells like whale sick]

[a little pale brown thing seems to be wiggling somewhere in it, and then pops out with a little "fwahh" sound and ohshit that thing has a face. It blinks and smiles at Tai vacantly.]

[SCREAMS and jumps back out of her seat]

OH MY GOD!

[mutantbeandogs]

[the little thing that appears to be some bizarre cross between a puppy and a cashew nut merely smiles back at Tai, and then it TALKS. in really stilted Engrish.]

Herro!

[Sitting on one of the cafeteria chairs with her feet on another one with a bottle of coke and a bag of chips in her lap]

[Yeah she has a secret stash of junk food IT'S SAFER SOMEHOW]

[WELL LOOK WHAT ROLLS OUT OF HER BAG OF CHIPS]

[it lands in her lap with a little "ah" noise]

[MEANWHILE IN THE BASEMENT Lien is wearily working herself up to eating]

[it's meat]

[it's cooked]

[but if someone tried to serve her this on her home planet she could have legitimately had them executed B|]

[OH WELL the things she suffers through for the sake of her revenge]

[as Lien tears away a bit of meat she reveals a small black bean, quite out of place, nestled in between two bits of...more meat]

[it is staring at her silently]

[with its wide, needlessly adorable to the point of being creepy eyes]

[man that thing is so small Lien can barely make it out]

[she tilts her head to one side to peer more closely at it; talking to it doesn't occur to her because let's face it she's eaten things with eyes before]

[it wiggles a little bit, getting itself a little further out of the meat so as to be better seen

it doesn't really work]
