It wasn't terribly late when Roderich finally finished his homework and... well he hadn't been avoiding the coffee shop, but he hadn't really been making a concerted effort to go back, or make time to do such. But it had been a few days since he had promised Thomas that he would come and taste the desserts at the coffee shop so he should probably do that. And he was having a serious attack of sweets craving that was not chocolate, which meant that he wanted baked goods. Well, that was good enough for him and he put on his coat and a scarf and a pair of gloves, setting out for the coffeeshop and a well deserved sugar break ( ... )

Putting the finishing touches on a wobbly looking candy cane, Thomas dusted off his hands and turned around. He grinned with recognition at Roderich and gave him a wave. "Of course," he answered. "Just in time, too, yesterday somebody came in asking about the pastries and all I could do was point at the cupcakes."

Roderich couldn't help but chuckle, though if it was at the candycane, or Thomas's own professed inability to discuss what he sold, or just simple amusement it was hard to tell. "How fortunate for you that you knew the cupcake was good at least. Has the whipped cream been behaving itself so far?" He perused the menu as he spoke, trying to decide both what he wanted to drink and what dessert to start with.

"And I have you to thank for that," Thomas chuckled. "Don't think I'd forgotten." The look he gave the whipped cream canister at Roderich's question was the sort of look most people reserved for dead animals. "The whipped cream and I have an... arrangement, but I'm sure it's plotting my death even as we speak."

Thomas chuckled and raised an eyebrow at Roderich. "Can I get you something to drink along with the sugar coma?"

Juliet was not the type of person to go back on her word, and she had promised Thomas she would visit him as much as possible. Besides, he was fun company and she really hadn't made many friends at school yet. She held her History book close to her chest and walked into the coffee shop.

Stopping at the counter, she tugs some money from her pocket and glances up at the menu before deciding on what to get. "Hey... Any fights with the whipped cream lately?"

Thomas laughed, finishing drawing a squiggly snowman at the corner of the board, and turned to Juliet. "I was victorious yesterday, but the whipped cream got me back once today," he answered, pointing at the left side of his face. "Right in the eye."

He grinned at Juliet, noticing the way she held her textbook close. "All work again, Juliet? You know what they say about all work and no play."

Juliet rocked back and forth on her heels and bit back a grin. "At least there haven't been any casualties. Though, I think if you were to wear an eye patch, it'd be very dashing. So at least we know you could pull it off?"

She glanced down at her book and shrugged. "I love history, so can it count as being something fun? Besides... Coming to visit you is something I would consider 'play'."

"Hm... the pirate look," Thomas mused thoughtfully. "Would I have to do that swaying walk too?" Her answer only widened his grin and Thomas put a hand to his heart. "A beautiful girl thinking coming to see little old me is 'play'? You sure know the way to a guy's heart." Thomas laughed a little at himself before he dropped the ridiculous act.

"How's school treating you?"
