The crowd, electric with passion and alive with the waving sway of placards and banners, had roared its support as Enjolras’ closing words rang out across the protest space. With one final wave of solidarity Enjolras turned away from the podium and descended from the stage, shooting his friends to a confident if tight-lipped smile.
He couldn’t shake a faint twinge of regret as he leaped down the stage steps two at a time: he would have loved to have spoken for longer. The crowd had reacted with sympathy and passion, proving itself to be amazingly receptive to everything he had said, but there were other speakers to get through before the afternoon was out. Dry-mouthed and still light-headed with post-proselytizing eurphoria Enjolras rejoined his friends at the foot of the stage and gave them an expectant look.
"That went well, don’t you think?"

"You have given some brilliant speeches in your time, but this one tops them all. I'll have it online within... I don't know. Within whatever length of time it takes Combeferre to upload it from my camera onto his laptop."

"You see that? You're thirsty. Clearly you have been speaking just long enough. I think there's some... ah, there we are." Bahorel conveniently walked by with a box full of bottled water to distribute to the speakers. Courfeyrac nabbed a bottle and handed it to Enjolras. "There you are. We can fight anti-mutant legislation and dehydration at the same time."

[ Pepper lingers close to the edge of the rally, watching on with a genuinely bright and enthusiastic expression. Enjolras' speech was fantastic, and she is thoroughly glad that she had to decided to come, if only at first in the interest of helping Enjolras and Courfeyrac at keeping an eye on the numerous students who wanted to attend. She knows that for all intents and purpose she should not get particularly roused by the protest, because she is here to be a responsible adult, but it's really pretty hard not to get lost in the energy of it all. She understands concerns that other teachers had about this protest - she knows that their concerns are deep-rooted and that overall this affects them more than it does her. After all, Pepper herself is not a mutant - but Tony is, at least, and if it affects Tony it'll end up affecting Pepper too. ]

Oh, Billy! Look, there is Pepper! Pray let us go talk to her!
[Flaps her wings a few times and hovers slightly above Billy's head, trying to get Pepper's attention.]

Heh. Might wanna say something.
[cups his hands around his mouth]
Hey, Pepper!
Uh. Ms. Potts.

(Even the creation of this simple sign had accidentally resulted in a huge mess on her desk, though. Ask Me About My Mutant Powers)
She stood around the edges of the rally, not feeling comfortable in the middle of the crowd. It was a bit claustrophobic.

"Levi!" He waved at her and managed to pass through the last few clumps of protesters separating them. "Doing alright?"

She'd never been to a political rally before, much less one as well-attended as this one. She found it extremely impressive.
