Billy came down the hall and knocked on Teddy's door, opening it after receiving his invitation to come in. "Hey, so you want to--whoa." He was brought up short by the sight of the big scaly wings sticking out of Teddy's back (also by the fact that his boyfriend was currently shirtless, though he didn't indicate so aside from the slight flush that crept into his cheeks). "Wow. Those are definitely wings. Big ones. You could be a dragon yourself." He shut his mouth on more inane things and just smiled at Teddy.

He folded them, a little bit embarrassed at being a spectacle. "Yeah, actually I worked it out from ... trying to look like a dragon? Temeraire wanted me to try it when we first met, but it took a while. And, well, he's not the only dragon any more." Smiling, Teddy shrugged, but the gesture was made a little unfamiliar by the extra limbs.

"Yeah. But they look really cool." Billy came further in a little hesitantly, his hand lifting for a moment as though he wanted to touch one of them, but then he let it drop. Somehow it seemed rude to touch a brand new appendage without permission. "So, uh, you want to try them out?"

"... Thanks." Teddy beamed. "Really I just copied Temeraire's, but ..." But, well, it had still been pretty hard work, and he was pleased with them. He noticed Billy's hesitation and spread the wings out a little, in case by folding them up he'd given the impression he was trying to ... avoid that, or something. "That was the idea, yeah. The question is whether we want to brave ... public ridicule, or bears."
