Okay - wings. He could do this. It was just like arms, but longer, with the muscle in different places and skin stretched between the digits like a canvas or something ... Perched carefully on the end of his bed, Teddy leaned forward a little to preemptively balance them, and they sprouted from his back, only slightly awkwardly - one was the wrong size, at first, but he could feel that now without checking in the mirror and he fixed it with a moment's thought.
He'd had the shape down for a few weeks now, but as for actually putting them into effect ... well, it was pretty much like he'd told Billy: he was going to look like a total moron if it turned out he'd gotten it horribly wrong and they just didn't work. He could always go out into the woods or something and climb a tree and try it there, but if he wound up falling then he'd probably ... attract bears, or something.
Teddy was pretty sure he could take a bear, but not if he'd just jumped out of a tree and broken his spine.
But, no, okay, he thought, standing up and folding and unfolding the scaly green appendages a couple of times (without falling over, which was great). They could find somewhere to test it out, and it wouldn't be the end of the world if people saw him plummeting uselessly toward the ground with no shirt on, anyway.
... He should probably have a shirt on, though. Maybe he could shift himself something that made room for the wings ...
