Kanda looked up at the movement, mouth thinned out in a line. He wasn't aiming to break the silence, but Arthur's insistant nagging was annoying.

"Why are you on this side of the room?"

"Oh, thank God, I was beginning to believe you were mute," Arthur exclaimed, not at all sounding like he was thanking any entity, God or otherwise.

Actually, he sounded rather sarcastic.

Kanda turned to face him, and crossed his arms, ignoring the statement.

"Well?"

'Why are you on this side of the room?' and 'Well?' were hardly acceptable first words to the person you plan to spend the next few years snoring next to. Was a bit of courtesy too much to ask for?

"Hello," Arthur said slowly, eyebrows raised as if he were talking to a particularly difficult person that just refused to catch onto his rather obvious etiquette cues. "I'm Arthur Pendragon. The roommate you're sharing this room with, in case you had no idea who that perfectly healthy specimen of a warrior sleeping in that bed over there was. I'm glad that we finally get to talk. Now your turn."
