Location: Dorm room B-31
Time: Evening, after classes
Content: Despite being roommates for the past few months, Kanda has yet to say one word to Arthur. Clearly, this is not acceptable.
Format: Starts third but can flip like a fishhook.
Warnings: Pratliness, severe breaching of the room's borderline red tape, implications of questionable hobbies abound.
Enough was enough.
There was only so much they could do to ignore each other, silently coordinating schedules so that they were rarely in the dorm at the same time. Leaving curt, commanding post-it notes was only going so far to express Arthur's dissatisfaction with the current status, and if he were being perfectly honest with himself, Arthur had somewhat missed the camaraderie of his knights.
Kanda wasn't exactly custom knightly material, far from it, but he was his roommate. That had to count for something.
"All right. I get it. You're the dark silent type with a penchant for blades, emo-ing it up like it's the crash stock market of 1929," Arthur said from his side of the room, back propped up by cushions nestled against the wall with one bent leg nestled on the bed. The other leg he allowed to dangle off the bed, taking up as much space as possible. "Which, just so you know, went out of style back in 1932. Don't you think you've been throwing me the silent treatment for long enough? Who knew someone could be so picky about their belongings."
Arthur paused in his speech and disdainful hand waving, if only to allow Kanda the opportunity to interject whatever it is he was dying to say. That first incident, the very reason for the red tape cutting dead center through their room, probably wasn't a good thing to bring up.
If Merlin ever caught wind of it, Arthur would never hear the end of it.
When enough time had passed by to prove that yes, Kanda was still insisting on acting like a wounded, jilted bear, Arthur decided it was time to breach sanctity and invade Kanda-land.
He crossed the red tape.
"Honestly, I don't have to take this. We're not married, I'll have you know. I don't even take this from Merlin, for God's sakes! Kanda. Kanda. I demand you say something. Now, Kanda."
