I'm passing this meme on. I'm not as informed as I'd like to, so feel free to further enlighten/correct me:

Please pass this on.

Criminalization of Organic Farms

House and Senate will vote on bill to end organic gardening . . HR 875

Food Safety Modernization Act (HR 875): Criminalization of Organic Farms

Bills are:

House H.R. 875

Senate S 425
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-425

IF YOU LIKE A GARDEN OR BUY ORGANIC FOOD YOU BETTER GET ON THAT PHONE TO YOUR CONGRESS PERSON N O W !
There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening. Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto. This bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply". This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales.

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds but only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now showing up with unexpected diseases in humans. The name on this outrageous food plan is "Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009."* (Really makes it sound like the feds are trying protect us.) This has NOTHING to do with food safety. This is only about TOTAL CONTROL by multi-billion dollar corporations. Get on that phone TODAY \and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing. The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position... they only fear your voice and your vote.

* This only goes to further prove Xi's Rule Number 1 re: Memes: The more a meme uses terms like "Safety" & "Security," the more sinister it tends to be and the more closely it needs examining. People will do ANYTHING to protect their "Safety" & "Security," and people who know this (e.g., politicians) can pass the most horrific legislation by simply attaching these 1st circuit terms to anything they so desire.
