peanuts are totally over rated... they sort of scare me. on top of going bad quickly, the no organic peanut crops are used to "clean" the soil of pesticides/etc after they grow cotton. cotton is notoriously bad for chemical sprays.

i wouldnt be worried about peanuts soaking up pesticides as i would the chemical nitrogen thats pumped in the soil to grow soy and corn
(but soy is a major culprit)

actually nitrogen treatment of soy is one of the top causes of "dead streams" in the united states. anoxia caused by nitrogen runoffs suck out the oxygen killing all the fish, while poisoning the rest.

i guess thats the choice were faced with though...
do we eat the poisoned peanuts? or do we let the earth and wildlife eat the poisons we created??

we used to have terrible fish/stream kills from pesticide run offs in my home province. most of the chemicals came from the potato crops.
