Mommy forums are nuts. You'll have to let me know if you find some nice ones. I'm on a couple here in the UK, and one which seems based in the US. They range from not very active, to active but squee-ing a bit too much for me, to active and militant about whatever their political agenda is. Actually, the last one is still my favorite sort, as I can sometimes get decent information out from in between the posts telling me if I don't co-sleep with my children until they're 5,6,+, I'm a terrible mother ( ... )

OMG you are killing me. Having a kid in your room until they are 5-6???? I bet they are still breast feeding too....which I am totally for until teeth show up. Then get the kid a steak.

I seriously think I might make a post on this subject... which I imagine will turn into several posts over time, once the baby is out and I'm checking forums more frequently.

Co-sleepers (as they call themselves): believe it's inhumane to expect your child to sleep alone. Trying to force them to sleep on their own is useless. (this is how the subject comes up - poor mums trying to get their kids to sleep in their own beds instead of running to the parents' room every night.) The kicker is what they come up with when they are (rarely) questioned. The most frequent reaction is, of course, "when do you and your partner have Special Alone Time?" and their reaction is to mock these people for having such boring sex lives! ie, if you're only having sex in your bed, you are a dullard, as well as being a shitty parent because the kids are in their own rooms. Sex is what the hall closet is for! etc ( ... )

I totally agree with you. 102 temp for that baby is way worse than a couple of tylenol. It's not like your taking experimental drugs or anything. If used as necessary and under the care of your physician who has a degree in something other than being an opinionated over-protective mommy, you are fine. If you trust your doc, that is the place to get your info. Mommy sites are where the crazies hang out to rant.
