My sister loved the book and movie so much that she named her second daughter Scarlett. That was an appropriate name too because she lived up to the self-centered, emotionally destructive young girl that the book portrayed. She ended up marrying a man twice her age when she was 18 and then was a widow just a couple of years later.

I have a Gone With The Wind quilt kit I am making for my sister. I have other Civil War quilt kits as this year is the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War. I have two southern great grandfathers who were involved in the war and managed to survive and return home to their loving wives and numerous children. I have great admiration for their faith and endurance, and I am grateful to say they turned out to be champions for the Lord.
