Almost a meme

I was going to post a meme from lithiumlaughter and scribble_myname but Percy's entry kind of exploded into awesome. Anything that happens here might be an anticlimactic.

I'm editing another Avengers movie!verse fic which I thought was about Darcy & Clint but is actually about Coulson in the end. Funny how that works. I also finished editing Rasputin so expect that in a few ( Read more... )

Honey, Bring Your Guns - X-Men First Class/Avengers

The war didn't end when Steve died left and Peggy had a war to win. She was with the Howling Commandos when they broke into Soldau, releasing prisoners in conditions too horrific to process. One of the larger cells held a young man, better fed but with a dead look in his eye. As soon as Peggy hauled him up, the deadness left his eyes and turned into anger. She'd never seen such anger, only felt it. That was the anger her heart felt the day after the mission to the Alps: twin fires of loss and hatred ( ... )

I wonder if Magneto would have matured differently in Peggy's care. Not, I suppose, that she'd have been allowed to keep him... but you can just imagine a mutant with powers of magnetism in MI6?

Too cool for words.

Also, I really liked the bleakness and determination that comes through in Erik's few words here.

I'm sure Erik loves visits from his "Aunt" Peggy. He probably stayed with Col. Phillips' unit out of sheer stubbornness then got transferred to a foster home thoroughly screened by Peggy herself. Okay, maybe Phillips, too. And Falsworth. So the commandos maybe kind of investigated all the possible orphanages and finding them wanting, looked for suitable foster families within Lord Falsworth's lands.

And if they encouraged Erik's determination to use his powers to join the SSR, well, they're just being good surrogate uncles & aunts (Lorraine thinks he's a darling!) encouraging a strapping young lad to be all he can be, right?

And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right, IT WAS SO AWESOME

Never Pull A Punch For Free - X-Men/AvengersClint tells each person a different story about his childhood. He was a carny, he lived in an orphanage, he was in witness protection, he was an army brat, he had a brother, he had four sisters, he was an only child. The stories got so convoluted he could barely remember the truth which was for the best, really, His messed up head protected the truth. At least until Loki got to him ( ... )

I love the truth you gave to Clint for his background. I love even more that his first call (in my head, anyway) to anyone outside of the Avengers is to Xavier's.

Also, he'd make a wonderful teacher there. There should be more to this. :)

In my head canon, Clint is a TERRIBLE teacher. *L* He just doesn't know how to explain with words and for all that he can sit stock-still for hours, he has little patience when you don't get something right away. He's better as a sparring partner. That said, he's kind of a charming asshole so some kinds of kids gravitate towards him.

"Nothing But the Truth"

Some canon involving Lois Lane, and/or Matt Murdock. MAYBE BOTH.

Lois Lane is in NYC to do one in a series on cold case homicides. This particular story is one Battlin' Jack Murdock, a come-back story that never got its Hollywood ending. She discovers Murdock left a kid, Matt, who's blind but is now a successful lawyer. Since Clark's been at her to try instill a little more hope into her stories as opposed to constantly clubbing the bad guys on the head ("But it's so much fun!" "Just try, sweetheart, for me, hmm?" "You're so lucky you're asking me while you're half-naked"), she tries for Matt's angle on the story ( ... )

Most excellent! I think I was the only person in my local group of friends who liked the Daredevil movie - they were all DD comic purists - and this is just a terrific crossover! (I would pick leather over spandex, myself.)

I liked it too but I've never read the comics & I watched the Director's Cut which is apparently less plotholey. I wouldn't watch it repeatedly unless my little cousins ask to but I didn't hate it.

Everything is Better with a Laser on Its Head - Avengers

"It's a robo babysloth!" Tony most vehemently didn't clap his hands with glee.

Darcy peered down at the tiny sloth-shaped robot with eerily realistic fur. "What's that on its-- Is that a laser on its head ( ... )
