I am SERIOUSLY jonesing for a Mulan marathon. And by that I mean, watching Disney's Mulan over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Having a Disney Princess come within the same continent as my ethnic background was awesome, true but more than that, the music was brilliant and Mulan generally kicked ass all around. SHE saved ( Read more... )

I love Mulan. Girl power! The animation! The soundtrack! The only thing I didn't like about it is the awful disco thing in the end with all the dead ancestors. :D

Also, is it me, or are you using the interrobang often lately?

Yeah, the disco thing was the worst of the best but usually, I'm so giddy from awesome that I don't care.

And I am, in fact, using interrobangs more often. They're kind of awesome.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND THIS IS WHY!!!

....We should watch Mulan and have a chat at the same time, so it would be LIKE watching it together? ;)

YES!

As soon as I can get my dirty paws on a DVD, I'll let you know and we can synchronize ouranimation viewing experiences. BTW, you had better keep next July or August free because I insist on kidnapping you two for the San Diego Comic Con.

I love Mulan for exactly those reasons. And your Mum, my mum and Mulan's, could form a support group.

I'm not sure our moms need the encouragement. ;)

I finally looked up what the hell an interrobang was because of you. It's now my favourite piece of punctuation, and favourite word EVER.

As to Mulan? HELL YES. Amber and I adore her for these very reasons (except, y'know, we don't share her ethnic background). That she saved her own boyfriend as opposed to the typcal damsel in distress thing? That's awesome. Then there's the Shakespearean-style crossdressing shenanigans, and lovable sidekicks. D'aaaaaaaw.

Dammit. Now I need to either go rent it, or break down and buy myself a copy of it.
Hmmm. Essay on ancient Sparta versus KICKASS FEMALE MOVIE.

...

Dammit. It shouldn't be this difficult.

We have converted yet another into the awesome that is interrobang. INTERROWOOT!

Re: decision making, you could always just watch 300. It's a little bit of Sparta and a little bit of movie. ;)

Sadly, I'm now going to be looking for excuses to use interrobangs. As long as I don't use one in my final exams though, I think I'll be okay.

You do have a point.
And a lot of what Leonidas says in the film was actually ripped from Agesilaus...so it's kinda the same thing....

Right. So, decision made. 300 words more, and then I go watch 300.

It's ridiculously easy to use interrobangs. You can also create portmanteaus-- interrotwirl, interrosqueee, interropounce. Really, the world's your oyster.

Nope, I'm Filipino. But it's in the same continent and thus a little bit more culturally and physically similar than 99% of the other Disney Princesses (with the exception of Princess Jasmine).

You used an interrobang!
