He looks like a garden gnome, and he doesn't lick people's assholes or talk down to them. Therefore there's no fucking way.

i like how "voting democrat" is equated with voting in the interest of the working class. The dems haven't taken any solid action to repeal NAFTA, they haven't taken any solid action to address any of the issues that they were elected into their slim majority on (the war or supposedly corruption ( ... )

I can't remember the actual statistic but a ton of Obama's money was coming from individuals making donations of less than a hundred dollars. As for Edwards he IS actually talking about issues that effect the working class and the majority of Americans - and therefore listening to the progressive base. Who else (except Kucinich) is actually talking about poverty in the US?

I used the term grassroots more to contrast the nature of the DLC. Both candidates are actually appealing to Democratic voters in key states much to the chagrin of the DLC and the media. Clinton is incredibly well connected but that doesn't change the fact that at least technically voters decide things...sort of. Remember when Giuliani was considered the shoe-in for the nomination by the media? He got 4% last night. What they're doing isn't astroturfing, but they are definitely appealing to a progressive base. Whether or not the rhetoric will actually match their actions is another question.
