so i have taken 5 "who should i vote for" surveys this evening, and every one has said kucinich. I am honestly trying to answer these without rigging the results, and I am a little conerened. should i have been campaigning or volunteering somehow? should i have cornered even more coworkers and forced them to face how shitty our health care system

I used the term grassroots more to contrast the nature of the DLC. Both candidates are actually appealing to Democratic voters in key states much to the chagrin of the DLC and the media. Clinton is incredibly well connected but that doesn't change the fact that at least technically voters decide things...sort of. Remember when Giuliani was considered the shoe-in for the nomination by the media? He got 4% last night. What they're doing isn't astroturfing, but they are definitely appealing to a progressive base. Whether or not the rhetoric will actually match their actions is another question.
