so i have taken 5 "who should i vote for" surveys this evening, and every one has said kucinich. I am honestly trying to answer these without rigging the results, and I am a little conerened. should i have been campaigning or volunteering somehow? should i have cornered even more coworkers and forced them to face how shitty our health care system ( Read more... )

i like how "voting democrat" is equated with voting in the interest of the working class. The dems haven't taken any solid action to repeal NAFTA, they haven't taken any solid action to address any of the issues that they were elected into their slim majority on (the war or supposedly corruption ( ... )

I doubt he'd try to get rid of abortion, because that smells an awful lot like government interference in the lives of its citizens.

Wait... you're calling someone else "semi-retarded" while arguing that a candidade who claims that his medical training qualifies him to make the statement that "life begins at conception" is likely to waffle on his abortion stance for the appearance of consistency?!

"If you can't protect life then how can you protect liberty?" -R.Paul, appearing on Hannity and Colmes in 2007.

Keep dreaming.

At least I know what the republicans are going to do when they get in office... the democrats, they won't even commit to that.

On this point, however, I must agree. :/

I stand corrected on ron paul... I wrote a response after forest's response to me, because honestly i'm not very educated on candidates in either field because i don't vote. I don't need to have a deep understanding of their mostly cosmetic stances to realize they are all the fucking same.

My response got eaten by the internets.

so, no one worry, i'm not voting for ron paul, but get the fuck away from my guns.

and sorry mujeresliebres... i'm not entirely sure who you are IRL, but you know my first name, so I think you know who I am... and I probably like you... the internet makes me shitty.

Any sort of actually progressive action would get the Democrats slaughtered in the House and Senate elections.

A comforting mantra by which to gradually become an irrelevant joke of a political party, that.

But then again, I pretty much see the American political system as completely co-opted and consider a huge chunk of voters to be effectively disenfranchised, and don't think that it's possible to re-shuffle the deck once it's been stacked so heavily. This view might be insane, but I haven't seen anything convincing to the contrary.

I wish I could disagree more, but, pretty much.
