Daddy has been and gone. He measured the wardrobe & made dad-noises about shelving & general decoratey things. He's said he'll put up bookshelves in my room for me when the decorating is done. Aren't you eligible for a Disabled Person's Railcard?

Re the theatre, it all comes down to what constitutes a 'reasonable adjustment' for them to make. They might argue 'well we've done something reasonable - look a £10 discount for disabled person and companion'. IMO it'd be reasonable to expect them to make the cheaper seats more accessible with the addition of lifts or to sell the expensive seats for the same price as the cheap seats given that you can't access the cheaper seats. This re physical barriers from the DRC looks worth a read.

At the moment I'm not eligible... and my YP railcard is one from my bank that doesn't expire until September next year... The plus side is that it's covered by my card insurance so if I have done something daft I will be able to get a replacement for free...

I agree with you about what would really equate to a reasonable adjustment. Thanks for the link - I'll peruse is later :)
